Hi,

I've read lots of reviews on upgrading the sound in Gladiator. My jeep came with the premium alpine setup, 8" screen. I replaced the front speakers with terraacoustics; great speakers. Soundbar needs a lot of help. I don't want to tear out the soundbar or cut it up to add 6 x 9s. I'm looking for plug and play. Here's what I think are my options from other posts and youtube:

Option 1: Kicker

csc35 = 3.5" $50 per pair
and
CSC4 = 4" $59 per pair
good reviews

Option 2: Select Increments

JLJT-Pods - 6.5" with tweeter; $329 per pair
poor reviews

Option 3: Kicker

kicker CSC65; $419 per pair
No reviews

Option 4: JBL

jbl club 64SQ; $489 per pair
no reviews

Option 5: kicker

Kicker DSC350 3.5-Inch $50 per pair
and
Kicker CSC354 CS-Series CSC35 3.5-Inch $51 per pair
good reviews

Option 6: kicker

Kicker KS Plug & Play Speaker Upgrade - $429
Good reviews

Option 7: kicker
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/speaker-upgrade-plug-and-play.104903/
Kicker KSC404 4" speaker $100 per pair
Kicker CSC354 3-1/2" $60 per pair

Here's my question. Would the 6 in speaker with tweeter be better than 2 small speakers in the soundbar? I don't want to spend a lot of money, but if someone said just upgrading the speakers under optoin 7 is far better that what comes with the alpine system, I think that works for me. Any thoughts. Am I overlooking another option?

Thanks!

I got the Terra Acoustic speakers for the dash. I plan to replace the small speakers in the sound bar with the set I originally bought for the dash. The sound is good enough that I can't justify any more than that.

I also debated getting a set of 6" component speakers for the sound bar.

I ended up installing 3.5" Infinity Reference REF-3032cfx speakers (3 ohm) in both the dash & sound bar. I did just the dash first and it was a huge improvement (and the installation was super simple). The soundbar was also an improvement, not as much as just the dash speakers but still worth the little bit of $ and time. I now have absolutely no complaints about the sound system.

The sound bar has two speakers; I think 3 1/2 and 4 inch. Did you just upgrade the one speaker but not the other?

Yes, the 3.5 is all I did on mine. The 3.5 handles the higher frequencies and the 4" is more of a midrange.

I talked to Crutchfield and to Trailseven. Both companies were excellent. I went with option 6 above, but did not get the tweeters for dashboard, since I already had installed the terraacoustics. It will be another week before I get them.

Is there a differance between the REF-3032cfX vs the REF-3032cf that made you pick the cfX? Is it that the cfx is 3 ohm vs the cf at 2 ohm?

I honestly don't remember, but I don't recall looking at the cf versions, and I don't think they showed as compatible on crutchfield - maybe because of they are 2 ohm. The cfx also has a shallower mounting depth, so that may have played into it.

According to the web site:

I think you should call trail seven and ask them for a 2025 setup.

Looks like individual components is the way to go for newer JTs.

I just watched a video on changing out the knee speakers of a 2024 JT. There is no way I am taking my dash apart to replace those speakers. I can only imagine how many rattles it would have after reassembly.
