Geez, I don't want to overload the front any more since it already bottoms out on the smallest of speed bumps at speed. I really should have sought out the X and also researched all the limitations of the Mojave. Only reason I want to get rid of the plastic is I have to treat it with 303 Protectant weekly in the desert sun. Guess I will still with the plastic for now. In a year, if I like the truck I will modify suspension.

I found the springs as new takeoffs for $100. Took 90 min to install....super easy.

Any bumper that fits a JL or a JT will fit the Mojave.
You just have to come up with a way to mount your shock reservoirs.
There are universal brackets available that will move the reservoirs to the frame horns.
I don't think this statement is correct.
You don't need to move the shock reservoir when replacing the Mojave stock plastic bumper.
Even the rubicon bumper and skid plate varrient works well with the reservoir.

The Mojave skid plate has different bolt locations vs the steel Rubicon bumper skid plate. This is were the main point of interference happens. There are a few aftermarket bumpers that fit 100% with the Mojave skid plate.

If you want to put a steel rubicon bumper on a Mojave. You need to run the steel skid plate that comes with the steel bumper. The steel bumper and skid plate will bolt up 100%.

Otherwise you will need to do some trimming.

If you order a Mojave with the Steel Bumper Group, or if you get a Mojave X (which includes steel bumpers), it comes with stronger springs to support the extra weight. If you got it with a plastic bumper and want to go with the steel bumper, you should upgrade to the OEM springs that come with steel-bumper-equipped models.

I'm curious if the steel bumper Mojaves have these offset isolaters on the front....

I installed Metalcloak 'correction pads' which are identical each side. That said, my X springs are identical while the 2021 OEM are not.

Well if I'm going to the trouble to swap springs I think I would do a whole suspension. I will stick with the plastic for now. Swapping out to steel is not an easy proposition on the Mohave like on every other model. I will never find any local takeoff X springs. I've found nothing good ever comes up for sale in St George. Sometimes in Vegas. I will keep an eye out. Not a big deal the plastic looks fine. I'm glad I didn't get a truck bed topper. 200+ lbs would have ruined the way this drives.

They'd be 500 shipped if new. I'll keep an eye out. I found a pair in a week when I seriously started looking.

The topper should be fine, since the rear springs should already be rated to handle the allowable payload amount.

Thats a $4K risk I'm not going to take. If I need a topper I will just buy a Flated one at 46lbs.

Just swapping the bumper isn't going to ruin the ride of you Mojave. The stock bumper is about 30lbs, adding another 45lbs up front or so is not that big of a difference. My Mojave's never exploded and burned with my ARB Classic stubby and M8000-s winch, I'm adding at least 85lbs up there I figure. If you want the bumper do it, you'll be glad you did. Now that said would the X springs maybe be better, sure, maybe a little.

As for adding a topper, try adding some weight to the bed and see how it rides, I feel mine rides better with some weight back there. You're way over thinking and complicating this for yourself.

X springs made a big difference in mine.... it wasn't exploding .... but it rode like shit. All gone with the X springs.
