I won’t get into the embarrassing details, but the front right corner hit a stationary object. Didn’t notice too much cosmetic damage until I got in the vehicle and noticed the steering wheel was upside down while I was driving straight! Where the fun begins,…..

First thing I noticed was the lower control arm being badly bent. It’s going into the collision shop tomorrow and thankfully, I have full coverage. I am a little worried about the future of this vehicle as a result of this accident. Truck is only one year old so I’m hoping I’m not in a situation with the car is totaled. I’ve been trying to get some decent pictures, but everyone’s opinion on what they think. I am crossing my fingers. I pay the deductible and it’s done in a week. I’ve had horrible luck lately.

GAWD DAMN SON! Well thats an 80 dollar part so in the grand scheme, I'd be happy it was the arm and not the anything else. If the steering linkage/box is good and the frame. Your sitting pretty. I'd check your uppers arms too though.

Well, things could be definitely worse. But it was just about where you assumed as far as damage. Obviously the control arm was replaced. Control arm mount was bent, but the frame is straight as an arrow. They subbed out to a 4 x 4 shop in the area that’s well known. I was happy that that happened. They are replacing the steering box and a couple arms that are attached to that or something. I forgot what he said it was. Right now it’s sitting pretty and it’s looking normal again. They had to replace the front right fender, the mirror, the cowl (which I had already cracked because I tightened the screw too hard when I put my lights on ),,,, and the front bumper had some scratches on it and he offered to replace it just because. I already bought a 392 modular bumper this week and they’re just taking the old one off and giving me a brand new plastic one. I guess I’ll throw it off the side as a back up. the company that performed the work on the front end told me that I was very lucky because it could’ve been much worse. I don’t know how much worse the frame isn’t bent and everything was an easy fix. They just have to wait on the steering box which should be a couple days and they will send it out for an alignment. They mentioned that it’s already driving pretty damn straight so that’s good news. I’m using talk to text so I apologize if there’s any errors. Also, the 392 bumper that I purchased was off of a 2022 Wrangler and it’s a brand new takeoff. Paid 300 bucks. I got very lucky with that one.

Fuck that, you have to tell us what happened!

looks like the only damage is on parts that half the people in the forum swap out anyway. you're in good shape

Probably replaced drag link and tie rod while they were down there as well. No telling what bent on the other side from that impact.

16 days later and still don’t have it back. They subbed it out to a 4 x 4 specialist, and have replaced damn near everything on the front end. I know that he’s swapping out Tie rods and something else tomorrow and then they’re going to try for alignment one more time. If they don’t get the alignment done this time, I am going to be very worried. . I’ll try to get a list of parts that they have put on already but obviously most of the stuff you guys have mentioned was already replaced. I should know the news within a day or two. Crossing my fingers because this is Batshit crazy. I don’t like it when people have to throw shit at the wall to see if it sticks.

Just wanted to give everybody an update. I’ll try to keep it brief. I should be getting my Jeep back by the end of the week. Yeah, one entire month. The shop replaced every single part on the suspension. I insisted that the truck go to a specialist in the local community because I didn’t like the work that was being performed. Everything still looked out of whack. They tried to give it back to me and I refused. We took it to a place here in Buffalo, New York and in 10 minutes he had it diagnosed. Turns out the axle was bent! Fully loaded axle on the way and should be delivered on Wednesday. The horrible part, the collision shop insisted on giving my vehicle back to me with the axle bent, and tried to tell me that it wasn’t bent at all. They tried to tell me that it was aligned perfectly straight and drives perfect. Clearly, he thought I was an idiot. After losing my shit and yelling for a couple minutes, I received a phone call 30 minutes later letting me know that New axle is on the way. Let’s put it this way, I’ve got lots of new parts put on the car and a brand new axle. $16,000.

Hey I was in an accident today where a car pulled out in front of me this is the damage. Do you think I would need a new axle?

Until it is completely torn down, hard to make a determination. The attach points on the frame and axles sided may be tweaked.

Can you take a pic of the axle?
Unfortunately i can’t it’s at the tow yard waiting to get to a repair shop. I was just trying to see what’s the worse case scenario since I haven’t had the Jeep a year yet. They towed it because I couldn’t turn the wheel to the left
