Right, the friction additive is due to how the LSD works. The locker doesnāt need that.Thanks. Sadly the manuals not with the vehicle. Just got it a month ago. With the locker axles we wouldn't have the LSD model correct?
I think most of us that do our own work donāt use Mopar branded fluids. As long as the fluid meets the specs then itās fine. On my ā20 JTR I used Valvoline fluids for the diffs.Sorry for sounding dumb. I figured it's easy enough to work on the jeep myself and not pay the shop. I'm seeing 75w90 at the store. I assume that's fine?
That's what I am looking at. The squeeze packs. I assume the 75w90 is good? Can't find 75w85 | |||||||
For me, it depends on what the item is. Some things only the MOPAR stuff, but I've done enough differential work over the years, I'm good with a fluid that meets or exceeds the MOPAR specs - gotta be careful, though, with that double-ball pinion bearing. They seem to be more picky, so I used the best I can find.I think most of us that do our own work donāt use Mopar branded fluids. As long as the fluid meets the specs then itās fine. I have some Valvoline hypoid gear lube in my cabinet.........
It will work fine. Many of the better fluids work in either. Thanks for the info!!
I may have made a mistake. I see on the packaging of the Valvoline that the gear oil contains LSD additive. For conventional and LSD diffs. Did I screw up??
They don't seem to offer an oil without it ...
