Rear frame support and stiffener

My '23 JTR is currently getting its frame straightened after a mishap at Sand Hollow UT. Frame shop said it's bent about 1" downward.

care to elaborate on the mishap? Might help others avoid mishaps in the future. Thanks

My local 4WD shop will be installing the Shift brace once it returns from the frame shop. I believe that @Gladi8r_22 mentioned on Reddit that he had to have a hole cut in the frame in order to install the bumpstops.

I'll try to upload the video but I have the Expedition One rear swing out tire carrier which obviously adds weight (I was already planning on beefing up the frame due to the already known issue with the added weight) but we were in the dunes and were having difficulty picking our way out. We came in through the rocks so didn't have good tracks to follow out. A group of jeepers came along and we asked to fall in with them to guide us out. It was getting to evening with thunderstorms incoming and my GF was getting pretty nervous. In order to climb some of the dunes I needed to have some speed as well as not wanting to lose the group. Well, one dune was steeper at the top then I expected and thudded down pretty good.

These are the clips from when shift was installing my frame bridge and Hydro bumps, yes, they had to open a hole and weld in an added tube to accommodate the bump, it actually adds more strength by going this route cause the tube is internal of the frame.
Definitely,call and talk to Jerry (owner) great knowledge & explains very well.

I am super happy with how it came out, they did a fenominal job, ... yeah, evrytime i go there, they are jamming out and turning wrenches, great environment for sure.

Trying to figure out what to do about rear bumpstops to give additional precautionary help to avoid this issue again. I currently that the Metalcloak Durosprings and wondering if there is a better option out there. I love the idea of hydro's but the cutting the frame to install scares the poop out of me.

THose were on my list to try, but ended up getting some MC bumps cause i was ordering other stuff.

The MC stuff is pretty hard.

The DuroSprings are definitely an improvement over the stock cushions especially up front, but they do leave some to be desired.

Those do seem pretty legit at first look. Definitely curious as to the other solutions you guys will be coming up with. Shift seems like a really great outfit, wish they were a few hundred miles closer.

If you follow their IG youve probably seen my Jeep there. Jerry’s brace is a wise move for anyone thats gonna go beyond light wheeling with a heavy payload or tows and wheels. Additionally anyone running a hydro or air bump in the rear or poorly managed suspension travel would benefit from this.

It looks like it interferes with my fuel cell else id have it.

What fuel cell do you have that it appears to interfere with? I'd like to reinforce my frame but also want a Long Ranger tank.

Finally got to swing by Shift Autowerx yesterday and met some of the crew, including Jerry. Super nice guy - walked me through everything and gave advice on how to tackle it (I can't weld, so I'll be looking for a shop, but Jerry noted everything to look out for).

I think he said this is the "third" generation of the design...a bit different from previous models. The shield now covers the entire Fox bump stop pipe, and it will require cutting the truss to accommodate, but one thing I do like is the sway bar end link brackets (not sure if that existed before).

Their shop was packed with about a dozen different Jeeps, including an absolutely sick Blue Rubicon JT build with a 5-6" lift and AntiRock sways (and of course, their rear brace).
