Had a 2020 gladiator rubicon on 37’s Traded for jlur Xtreme recon. Recently bought a leftover 24’ Mojave. Wasn’t going to do much to .put onboard air, and got a matching wheel for the spare. Well… I lied to myself and want 35’s. Want to use factory wheels and no spacers. I’m interested in ko2 315/70/17 c , or Falken at4 35/11.50/17. I really like ko2 had them in three jeeps. Light weight is a plus. I worried about balancing issues, but had good luck in the past. I like the Falken s had them in both gladiators with good results. They are heavier than the ko2. Any advice on those tires on a Mojave with stock wheels would be appreciated. . Pictures would be be great too.

I plan on doing this end of summer so have no practical experience - but from what I've read and seen, those tires will fit Mohave and Rubicon with no modifications due to the wider axles.

I added a 1.5" leveling spacer to my Rubi up front just because I hate rake. Your Mohave already has this lift from Jeep.

So you should be good to go.

P.S. Post Pics!!

I am putting on Falken Wildpeak AT4W in the morning, I went with the 35x11.50x18 since my Sport S with the Max Tow package came with 18” wheels

Just not sure if I’m better off with k02 that is much lighter, or taller at4 that is taller thinner and heavier, but does not have the balancing issue. I’ve had that same ko2 in two jeeps with no problems. It’s lighter than my stock tire so maybe better to keep mpg in check, and wear on Jeep. The thinner at4 is heavier but maybe less rolling resistance cause of width. I want to avoid losing 8th gear. I rather not regear. My rubicon had ko2 37’s and a manual transmission. Ran great off road definitely needed regearing for highway. The extra weight was a problem wearing ball joints and suspension, eventually having death wobble.

I weighed these tires and they came in at 64.2 pounds, which is pretty close to the stock weight of the Rubicon tires, I think if my research is correct. I think my 4.10 gears should handle it ok

Could you put up a picture, profile side? And are you running any lift?

Absolutely in a vehicle weight is the enemy with the biggest negative effect on performance and efficiency. Just stands to reason the wider the tire the heavier, the higher the weight rating the heavier. Unless you’re planning on rolling over some seriously knarly rocks, you don’t need anything but passenger rated tires.

37 x 12.5 x 17 KO2’s on the JTRD with Mopar 2 inch lift.

35 x 11.5 x 17 AT4’s on the JTM with AEV 2 inch lift. I like the skinny tires better. Sorry they are not on stock wheels but I love the TerraFlex Nomads!

Thank you to all those who have posted up the pictures.. I am a 11.50 fan and considering 37s when time arrives for the '23; I am thinking these will be OK on Stock Wheels... the '21 is on 35x11.50 Falkens ATW4s on American Racing ATX Legends.

I looked at falken too but went with toyo open country at3. Only a few pounds heavier and been great so far. 35/11.50r17 on stock Mojave wheels.

Actually, it is just the opposite. Diameter is the bigger power killer vs. weight. Because it changes your gear ratio. Putting taller tires on has the same net effect as installing HIGHER gears in the axles.

Example: If you have 3.73 gears and really wish you had 4.10 - that's about a 10% reduction in gear ratio and you'd be happy!

Now, take those same 3.73 gears and go from 33" tall tires to 37" tall tires - that's also gonna be a 10% difference in gear ratio....the OTHER direction. You've basically just changed your gear ratio to 3.357 gears. You would not be happy.

If you don't believe me - check your speedometer. It would be about 10% off. Screaming at you "Hey....I'm a running a higher gear ratio now!"

Weight certainly plays a factor - but I just read waaaaay too much emphasis on weight vs. height reading this forum. When it should be the other way around.
