I can't help with your direct question.

But if you have the factory hitch receiver and don't tow, switching it out to just the factory frame to frame brace will gain you some real estate too.

I do, but I do tow. Thanks though.

I have a spare 39" KM3 under my bed. 3-4 psi and ratchet strapped to keep the tread away from rubbing on the track bar. I have about 6-7 trail days on that setup. It works but I've been casually looking for a track bar with a bend in it when I'm not working on a couple other projects (track bar is about a "c" priority with my trail Jeep as priority "a", Buick as priority "b")

The sidewall hangs down a bit further than I like but I do limit myself to "6-7" Moab rated trails with the JT. Poison Spider, Metal Masher, etc trails. Could I kill a sidewall coming off a ledge, yes. I have not as of yet.

For RR4W Labor Day Campout I have Hells Revenge (gunner) and Backwards Bill (leader). Hoping to take my trail Jeep but JT would be fine on both of those (and has done both a few times) if I'm still not confident in the "Jeep".

I’d very much like to see that rig sometime. I’m wondering if the Clayton bent track bar would make the ratchet strap unnecessary. I’m fine with it wired way down. If I need it I can pump it up.

I know. I know. But if there is a decent tire I’m unaware of, I’d likely replace my almost worn out 37’s with something bigger. I’m not interested in 13.5” wide tires though. So I get that the answer is likely no, but I thought I’d ask. With how I use mine, I can’t put the spare in the bed. Thanks everyone. I’d be fully willing to have very little air in it. I always have my co2 tank.
Yokohama GEOLANDERS 37x12.5x17 fit under the bed. No issues. No kicking, shaking nothing but just a little wiggle to get it aligned.

Thanks. I have that size in Mickey thompsons and they definitely fit. I’m trying to fit a 38.

This thread is a bad influence. Saw a cheap 38 so I bought it to see for myself…

I love that I’m not the only person like that.

I understand that… I’m waiting for the day I have to try the starting fluid bomb method to reseat one. Bread grip wheels might have me a little over confident. Then I’ll be paying one of my buddies for their spare.
It works really well. Never let me down..

Where does it get sprayed on the tire? I get the concept I believe, that it expands the air upon explosion and seats the bead. So do you spray it inside the tire, ignore and inflate simultaneously?
yes in the rim as much as possible.

Let me know what you figure out @WILDHOBO . Ive been thinking 38s now that im back from the trip and the tire need is getting closer and closer. I contemplated doing the 4 38s and leaving a 37 under the bed as a "donut" situation.

Will do. I’ll only do it if I can get all five, but I’m ok with massive deflation.

I did that with my 38 Ridge Grapplers.

Pic of my nice orange strap so I can see when it breaks. Been there since March 2025
