That doesn't look like anything has been snug up against this area (between the bolts)
The area by the bolts is clean - but this area is dirty, been uncovered.

Ehh I just saw the second wall and assumed. It's not like the inspection plate right above that and the dinky little rubber plugs are doing a great job at sealing the bell housing anyway.

Wonder if @ShadowsPapa is in to something. That maybe the Rams or Wrangler have something that covers that ? . Wonder if this should be sealed off ..???

Something tells me I’m looking for trouble 😬
I have been under mine alot and with my background in law enforcement and safety almost anything that doesn't look normal catches my eye ( reminds me of a good joke) . I was like the Heck is that ??

Well, in the spirit of clarity, what we see in the photo is not looking deep into my dog’s ear or looking at a health set of tonsils but a dead end globular $)@&?!’s of nothing here folks. At least now I can rest easy. Thanks @Stan H

How tempted is anyone to go stick a zip tie or wire up in there 🤔 😂

If you're really worried about it just run some silicon over it tbh.
And/or - after a water crossing, pull the rubber plug.
If nothing, then nothing.

Last thing I want is dirt/water up around the rear main and front transmission seal.
But if nothing's getting up there, then it's a nothingburger.

Use a piece of shim stock or a flat feeler gauge. Wire will likely be too large, as would a zip tie.

Around here, we seal things to prevent bugs, spiders, wasps and such from nesting in recesses, making messes.
I had a car brought in from California and rolled under it on a creeper and was greeted, only 2 inches from my face, by a nest of angry ready-to-sting insects. I bet I rolled out of there so fast the creeper wheels were sparking.

The rubber plug hole and space inside didn’t also include the space I put my camera in. It’s sealed off

I think myth busters should be involved - they could machine a plate to cover that area, with an air line fitting, pressurize it and see if it holds.
Plausible.

They already tried that, kinda…There’s a plate and bolt on mine, covering up a hole just as you described!

That's the inspection plate so you can undo your torque converter bolts if you decide to do your own transmission swap
