Again above my pay grade but yes, just taking Antigravity's word about not running parallel.
They know their own electronics, I would take their word for it.......
But part of the idea of going that route is to escape the usual parallel battery bit with a more capable battery.

My same battery just went out at 2 years 3 months. How is yours lasting? Thanks.
So far, so good. Only issue I been having recent is my damn Aux battery went out again. This has been doing just great so far.

Are you thinking of switching? I was looking at those anti gravity battery one of the forum member posted. Thanks!

Cheers

Purchased a full throttle H7- 94R battery this evening. Probably installing it tomorrow evening. I like wasting money and trying new things…….lol.

I've been plugging my CTEK AGM charger into the trailer hitch once every 2 months or so just to fully charge the batteries since the smart alternator will cut itself off before this ever happens. Seems to be working out well. I set it on "Snowflake" mode as recommended for Odyssey batteries.

Hey brother! Great to see you again!

Mind educating me on this? What does this do? & How can it help the battery? Thank you.

I suck at explaining some things so I just let ChatGPT do it. ;)

  1. Lower Charging Voltage:
    • Most Jeep alternators charge at around 13.8V to 14.2V.
    • But Odyssey (and many AGMs) require 14.7V during charging to fully charge and balance the cells.
    • So the alternator just never quite gets the battery to 100% — more like 85–90%.
  2. Short Drive Cycles:
    • Even if the voltage was a little higher, short trips or off-road stop-and-go driving doesn’t give the alternator enough time to push a full charge.
  3. Smart Alternators (in newer Jeeps):
    • These actually lower voltage intentionally to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Good for gas, bad for battery health.

🔋 Why This Is a Problem for AGM Batteries

AGM batteries are tougher and more capable, but they’re also more sensitive to undercharging. When they don’t reach full charge:

  • They slowly sulfate (crystal buildup on the plates),
  • Which reduces capacity and lifespan,
  • And you might notice sluggish starts or a battery that seems to “go bad” early.

🔌 Why Periodic Charging with a Smart Charger (Like CTEK) Is Best

Using a charger like the CTEK in Snowflake mode every few weeks gives the battery:

✅ Proper voltage (14.7V) during charging,
✅ A full, controlled multi-stage charge cycle,
✅ And a correct float voltage (13.6–13.8V) to keep it topped off safely.

It essentially compensates for what the alternator can’t do, keeps the AGM battery healthy, and extends its lifespan significantly.

I bought an adapter for the CTEK to just plug in through the trailer connector - quick and easy. It's totally safe and works.

This is excellent, and explains it perfectly. Definitely going to start looking into investing in one of these for the Jeep. Thanks bro!!

A GOOD battery charger charges in phases or stages - there are 4 for AGM.
My system voltage hasn't been under about 14.2 since last fall - so maybe having things disconnected for an hour or two today will have reset the IBS and such - not a big worry - it will be Stew's worry in a couple of weeks LOL

My NAPA charger actually shuts off for a few hours, then wakes up and exercises the battery periodically. The BatteryMinders I have work similar to yours, but at a much slower rate (1.5 amps or 1500 mA) and also desulphate. I can leave those on my cars all winter and not worry about the batteries.

What are the multiple mods required for it to be compatible?
it would be cutting/enlarging/possible terminal relocation. It doesn't fit due to the plastic frame of the battery I suppose you could Dremel and cut that down but I probably wouldn't do that so I'd have to alter it on the Jeep end

On the diesel you just have to shorten the support for the battery compartment lid/floor of the main battery tray.

Unfortunatedly I can not share pictures rigth now, but there is plenty space to relocate main battery, or, install an additional battery behind rear rigth wheel well. I have installed ther a yellow top optima battery and fits perfectly. I have used the side rock protection 3 screws, to support the base I built for the battery, and the battery is completely concealed.
