An extended cab/long bed is obviously important to you, but why does your avatar look like a Ram four door/short bed?

It's a quad cab (not a crew) - specifically ordered in this configuration because it has a longer and therefore more useful bed - as should be the case with an extended cab Gladiator...An extended cab/long bed is obviously important to you, but why does your avatar look like a Ram four door/short bed?
Thank you for your tireless efforts @2015er !
I'm sure your "many letters" and "posts made" is why the Gladiator was born.
Thank you again!

Cool. Send them a letter as they are not reading your gripes on here. Not trolling - if you notice I am the OP for this thread. Also, I think I have been at this quite awhile with Jeep - I have been after them to build a truck since the 2005 Gladiator concept rolled on to the floor nearly 14 years ago. Many letters have been written and posts made through these years - so the troll thing doesn't apply. Lastly I have two FCA products in my garage - 2015 Ram Laramie and 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon turbo. Never had a Ford and really don't want one - just using the 2019 Ranger as a comparison. So as an FCA customer with approximately $100k in purchases of their products - I think they might like to know my opinion as when I make my next vehicle purchase I would like it to be a Jeep Gladiator Overland EXTENDED CAB.
Yes you can and feel free to drive that ugly thing reminds me of a minivan lol! Oh and as always you will have the Dakota in a year or too.![]()
Well what ya know - here is one of Ford's pictures of the brand spanking new 2019 Ranger showing its capabilities as a "Lifestyle" truck as we see the infamous mountain bicycles in the bed. Oh and please note one more thing in the photograph - IT'S AN EXTENDED CAB!!!. What ya know about that - you can have a lifestyle with an extended cab. Hopefully this realization comes to the design chief at Jeep and the JT!!!
ill just use the back seat to keep my fridge safe & the beer handyI would prefer a 2 door but I'll get a four door despite it having a useless rear seat at least in my case. No such thing as the perfect ride though.

I think they have come out against it because the Dakota will fill the need. FCA is really really really careful that what the do with Jeep will not hurt Ram and vise versa.I wouldn't be too surprised if the Cherokee concept truck debuts as a 2 door truck option in a couple years if the JT does well. Might be why Jeep corporate has come out firmly against a 2 door JT.

Yeah but the doors won't come off the Dakota lol well it might it is FCA after all.I think they have come out against it because the Dakota will fill the need. FCA is really really really careful that what the do with Jeep will not hurt Ram and vise versa.
OK, then probably the Dakota will be smaller than the JT? If so, that makes sense to compete with the smaller single and extended cabs that are on the market or soon to enter the market. I found it very interesting in one of the videos with M. Allen that they felt Jeep has been so successful because they are bringing products to new markets as opposed to trying to bring buyers to them. Which is why they are rolling out several new models into new markets over the next few years. New trucks form Hyundai and Nissan should show up in the next couple years and then possibly VW, Mercedes, and Subaru could test the market. IMO none of the trucks sold overseas from those manufactures or concepts they have shown are compare to the JT in size, performance, or styling. A Subaru on the Atlas platform would have been the most interesting from my perspective, as I am not a crawler. The JT hit the spot, as I want decent off-road capability, a usable bed, and as much rear interior room as possible on a mid-size. To do that, the dimensions to be around 75' wide and 220" long. Full size trucks hitting 230" L and 80" W are just more than I care to deal with as an everyday commuter and weekend runner. The JT has hit the spot for me interior wise, nothing in the mid-size class compares to the rear interior space. Probably the closest mid-size rear interior room and functionality wise is the Ridgeline. And I know, most enthusiast do not consider it a truck as it is not BOF and has very limited capability off-road due to clearance and transmission overheating issues.I think they have come out against it because the Dakota will fill the need. FCA is really really really careful that what the do with Jeep will not hurt Ram and vise versa.
