Is it possible to remove the factory receiver hitch?

The slightly more aggressive approach:

I removed my hitch with a plasma cutter. That’s one option As the second iteration, I replaced it with a reinforced metal bar with d-ring mounts.

You know, Motobilt does bobbed beds. I think they cut part of the frame out when doing that, if you're REALLY wanting more clearance.

Motobilt did do a good job with theirs, but you can also bob your own bed with about 2 days and some basic tools: welder, grinder, etc.
