Lmao I'm a bit exasperated with myself for not noticing sooner. There were a few times I'd halfway noticed while washing it and thought "they look different in direct sunlight" but I never imagined the factory could make such a mistake. Maybe if the mismatch had been on the same side of the truck I would've noticed IDK.... I negotiated the sale over email and then took delivery at night when it was dark. It was then usually parked in dim parking garages. I started noticing after moving somewhere sunny.

I was planning to put on new wheels and tires and to sell the existing ones as take-offs, but now I'm not sure anyone would want to buy mismatched Willys wheels.

A few years ago, I bought a second set of Ram 1500 Longhorn wheels from someone who pulled them off at 3,000 miles. My truck was a 2020 and his truck was a 2022. I was surprised that his walnut brown was a brighter richer color than the ones off my 2020. I just assumed that the coloring on mine had faded, but now I'm wondering if there are just variations of color.

All of my wheels were black when new after some time in the sun they have faded the same color. A "Purplish Gray".

The color on my wheels looks completely even in every nook and crany, not like it faded in the sun. And both sides of the jeep were exposed to equal amounts of sunlight yet 2 are evenly black and 2 evenly dark grey.

Wow, wild. For what its worth, my exw had a Willys JL that sat in direct florida sunlight for four years; when she got rid of it, they were all still very much black.

That's helpful to know. My JT had to be parked in the driveway for the first year we were in Florida but otherwise has been garaged. The driveway ran North-South so the sun rose on one side and set on another, and sometimes I backed in and sometimes went nose in.

Some one here had different front fenders from the factory. Either a Friday Jeep of a long weekend or any typical Monday Jeep is my guess.

Wow that's really interesting. I'm dumbfounded that they faded so evenly.

And I'm so confused that 2 of mine are still perfectly black despite equal sun exposure.

I'd had the jeep less than a year when we moved to Florida and I washed it in the sun and first had an inkling they looked different and thought it was just a trick or the light. It wasn't until a few days ago I fully realized 2 wheels are a fully different color.
