The Hurricane 6 would have been a rocket in the GC but I’m good with the numbers this things putting out. The party truck is going to be if it’s reliable. I saw one video of the long block on a stand and it appeared to have a large bore down low thru the block. I think it’s for a power steering rack. Kinda makes me wonder how easy that will be to work on. I did see a metal spin on oil filter on the bottom of the engine though which I personallly love.

The 4.2L I6 that Chevrolet used in the Trailblazer in the mid 2000s was like this. I believe a stub shaft for the front differential had to pass through a hole through the oil pan to get to one of the front tires.

So yanking the engine required tearing that apart, too. Or dropping all of it out the bottom in the cradle - like it was built.

The 4.2L I6 that Chevrolet used in the Trailblazer in the mid 2000s was like this. I believe a stub shaft for the front differential had to pass through a hole through the oil pan to get to one of the front tires.

Many Pontiacs it was impossible to drop the oil pan without major work.

My aggravation with out the bottom designs is that not all of us shade tree mechanics have lifts to get stuff out the bottom, lol. It's awesome when you have the tools, though.

Yeah, I was joking. I knew a guy who worked with my dad who had several brand new ones in the late 70s and early 80s. My dad used to make fun of his jacked up, 4wd car with woodgrain on the sides.

Space in my shop - I've packed it with so many things, no room for a lift. That's got to change, though. It's becoming a MUST have.
I have 15' ceilings, so the issue is floor space. I need to get rid of some stuff.

Ive heard of designs like this, never seen one. Gotta say it sounds like a pain in the arse. What’s this look like to you?

Okay here is a serious idea .
An outside Concrete Pad with 2 post lift buried in the concrete. And a temp shed roof until you can box it in .

I pull those *edit., the 5.3 in Trailblazers, IDGAF about that garbage 4.2, in junkyards in about 2 hours, working leisurely while filming lol.

And people on their couch act like it's completely unbearable.

It's hardly unbearable - just an additional step since they ran out of room at the bottom of the engine.

I've pulled worse engines out of worse vehicles myself
