Its a V8 so yes its good.I am going way out on limb here and post something I saw that is, wait for it, wait for it.
Almost related to the topic of this thread. LOL![]()
Whoa buddy this is where we talk about the price of rice in China, not Hemi's in Gladiators.I am going way out on limb here and post something I saw that is, wait for it, wait for it.

Oh, if it was really that simple. If that's all there was to it, if politics and fines and the NHTSA and other factors never entered into it. (can you license that hemi-swapped Gladiator in California?)If there is multiple companies that have been Hemi swapping the Gladiator for year.
Apparently with any hemi you want.
Why is going to take over year and half for Jeep to get it done and on the market?
Especially with the Wrangler already having done most of the groundwork with the 392 Wrangler.
2027 seems like a long time to make something like this happen.
Oh, I am aware there is a lot of regulatory hoops and hurdles they have to jump through.Oh, if it was really that simple. If that's all there was to it, if politics and fines and the NHTSA and other factors never entered into it. (can you license that hemi-swapped Gladiator in California?)
Again, very different - "back into" is perhaps a key phrase.Which they showed just how fast they can jump through those hoops when it took what 6 months to get a Hemi back into the RAM.
....unless you sell the Hemi with a ridiculously low towing capacity in the Gladiator, and then folks wouldn't buy it because of thatAgain, very different - "back into" is perhaps a key phrase.
It was worth the effort, and possible future fines for a full-sized truck. They are used to tow and haul, there's a big demand for a truck that can tow 10,000 pounds.
There's also the small, inconsequential bit about the Gladiator and HEAT SHEDDING.
They struggled to get the tow rating they did with a 3.6
Who cares in a JLU - do you tow 7,000 pounds in a Wrangler? No, so there's not going to be an "overheating while towing" bit.
But pack that V8 into a JT and now you have to deal with the extra BTUs of heat - how are you going to get rid of it? You won't.
So that's another reason for no V8 in the JT at this time -
No one tows 7,000+ pounds with a Wrangler - you don't need to worry about heat.
We want to tow 7,000 pounds with a Gladiator......... won't work, can't get rid of the heat.
That's probably the biggest reason we aren't seeing it - it works fine in a Wrangler, but it just won't do in a Gladiator.
I suppose they could and maybe should rate it a bit more conservatively then 7k.Again, very different - "back into" is perhaps a key phrase.

Tow rating on smaller tuck like this would really make very little sales difference.....unless you sell the Hemi with a ridiculously low towing capacity in the Gladiator, and then folks wouldn't buy it because of that![]()
In all seriousness I can't say one way or another how many people it would matter to.Tow rating on smaller tuck like this would really make very little sales difference.
I really do not see tow ratings on truck like this really mattering to a lot of people.
There is a lot of trucks sold in this country that never tow anything.
6,000lb billboard behind a Gladiator? I wouldn't be excited about it either.I have a 25 ft TT that weighs 6K empty. I would not want to tow it with my JT ever. I tow it with my Ram diesel 2500. Wind and traffic will not be fun with the JT.
I looked into it and getting it to pass smog is the issue. One shop says they can do it, others say smog it in another County, some say it will never fly. So my assumption is no hemi swap in Cali until the gladiator comes from the factory that way. Someone please prove me wrong I'd love some more HP to play with.Oh, if it was really that simple. If that's all there was to it, if politics and fines and the NHTSA and other factors never entered into it. (can you license that hemi-swapped Gladiator in California?)
You'd be surprised.......... It's a frequent topic here, has been since day one.Tow rating on smaller tuck like this would really make very little sales difference.
