Regarding Sirius, I bought two lifetime subs for $399 sometime prior to 2004. I love it since terrestrial radio plays so many ads. Plus, I go on fishing/camping trips 50+ miles from pavement several times a year so no cell service out there.

Regarding your windshield ant issue, I would pull the radio out and see what type of ant plug leads to the windshield. I imagine with a little digging around you can fine the right antenna cable. The radio doesn't care where the ant is located. It will certainly be some type of small coax cable (probably very thin coax). I know the Sirius ant coax will lead up to the roll bar where that ant is located.
Please let us know what you find.

I don’t like the sat radio when I hear the same song 3 times in a 24hr period 😂🤣😂🤣

The nature of my geography the FM works with a real antenna so much better.

Really, regular glass with the exoSkelton shield on the outside fixes the chip and cracked glass problem.

I was just wondering if anyone had done the mod and if there was a cable that would plug into the head unit, is it capable?

I have all of my favorite music on usb enough for fringe areas and a drive across the US about 6 times
What is exoSkeleton shield for jeep glass? I’m not familiar with that, but I’d like to be. Thanks.

That extra 20 bucks or whatever Sirius now costs monthly is about equivalent to a case of beer. If I sit listening to Sirius when I'm thirsty or FM radio with a case of beer, the FM/beer wins every time.
Every year, when my subscription runs out, I call SiriusXM to cancel, and they talk me into renewing for another year by lowering the price. My current year subscription is $3.99 a month. $4.38 after taxes.

If XM would make a subscription $5 a month, everybody would keep it. Bet they would make more money.
If you tell them you are canceling they will give you the 5.00 month for a year , then in a year call them threatening to cancel then you will get the 5.00 again for a year! They will do any incentive to keep you from canceling!

I've never even registered the "free" whatever limited subscription I got with the truck. I also rarely use radio, so I'd be willing to just leave the wire disconnected if it meant the glass were cheaper.

I've had Sirius and now XM for a long time,
Didn't the two companies merge like two decades ago? I can't remember the last time I saw anything but the merged logo. Maybe I have and just didn't register it.

To be fair, when I'm out off-roading, hunting, etc., I never play the radio. That's just for daily routines & traveling to/from destinations. Out in the outdoors, I want the windows down, and the radio off.

Must be nice to live in a flat area without mountains to block your satellite signal. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Here, it's the trees.

I tell folks if they want to stash a stolen vehicle, or hide a dead body, this is the place.
No cell service, no satellite, sometimes no GPS. It's a black hole for any sort of signals and things rot and rust really fast here.
Good place to make things just disappear.

Not familiar with the deep canyons and hills of Texas are ya ? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂.

At least 3 regions of hills and for the lack of a better description mountains. I have a few spots on my ranch that don’t see direct sunlight.

Idaho ain’t nuthin special in that regard. Varied terrain like Texas and the moon 😂😅🤣😂

They block out everything

They merged many years ago.

What is Sirius? Once you create a music library and/or playlists on your phone (Amazon music, etc), you never go back.
What do you pay for Amazon music? Do you pick the songs?

If you have Amazon prime (discounted shipping), you also have access to Amazon music, movies, etc. If not, it's $15/month.
