Regarding Sirius, I bought two lifetime subs for $399 sometime prior to 2004. I love it since terrestrial radio plays so many ads. Plus, I go on fishing/camping trips 50+ miles from pavement several times a year so no cell service out there.
Regarding your windshield ant issue, I would pull the radio out and see what type of ant plug leads to the windshield. I imagine with a little digging around you can fine the right antenna cable. The radio doesn't care where the ant is located. It will certainly be some type of small coax cable (probably very thin coax). I know the Sirius ant coax will lead up to the roll bar where that ant is located.
Please let us know what you find.
