Whether people agree or see it or not, AEV has always marketed themselves and their products as upscale. You almost never see any of their stuff on sale or discounted.

From what I understand, their factory conversion packages sell more to overseas Middle East customers than here in the USA. They make most of their money sell the bits and pieces accessory and lift packages than whole vehicle conversions here in the USA.

In some countries you cant modify the vehicle very much if at all after its delivered. By buying the upfit you can get in to a (over priced) built out gladiator that you otherwise wouldnt be able to do if you just bought a stock export gladiator.

That said, AEV is overpriced for what it is by massive amounts. They dont really make bad stuff, but the price they demand is often 2x+ higher than a comparable (and often better) component.

The 2.0 would be a total wimp in a JT, rendering it unable to tow or handle the payload of even an Overland.
