Yes, ESS gets a bit too much sometimes. I don’t mind a restart or two on a trip but every light gets old.

People will disagree, but letting the car sit and idle for 5-10 mins is useless. Modern cars do not warm up very much while idling. And then it also lets condensation build up, which is bad. The transmission is also not warming up while sitting there idling - and people tend to forget the trans needs to warm up just as much. Hell, in a lot of cars a new trans is more expensive than a new engine. Really all you’re doing is wasting fuel and putting hours on your engine, for no gain.

Get in, start it up… take your time to buckle up, turn off the auto stop (or at least I always do)… turn on the seat and steering wheel warmers… and then I will usually give it another ~10 seconds, and then start driving. I’ll drive gently for about the first 5 miles or so, and then just drive normally.

And Pray tell how many miles you got on your machine ?
I own a modern V-twin air cooled motorcycle and I never start it and take off within a few minutes either . Always idle till its warmed about 5 -10 min. Granted its warmer outside most of the time when I ride it .

Helps to warm up the ambient temperature inside the vehicle, and warm up the seats with the heated seats.

Don't you have remote start on your key fob?

True but aluminum is a more sensitive animal . But I do understand what your saying. When the temps are cold it will high idle 1000rpm for a long time versus when it is warmer . Ever noticed that. Of course I do live in the rainforest of the East .

Yes they will do that if you have remote start installed in your Jeep! They don't bother me though all I can do is lock/unlock from the app

Having just done a transmission fluid & filter service, I can verify that the transmission does indeed warm up while idling. It doesn't warm up quickly, that's for sure, but the fluid temperature does increase at idle.
