You don’t want that. GM did it in the Colorado and they’re painfully slow and so weak the 3.6l beat it up the Ike gauntlet. I test drove one when I bought my 2017 Canyon. I made it like two blocks and turned around. Awful. 3-4 sec slower 0-60 iirc.

Btw why did you buy a JT over a JLU if you want a 4’ bed? Longer wheelbase?
Well I'd want a diesel with decent power. LOL

I've owned a YJ 3inch lift on 33's, loved it. then for about 7 years owned a 2013 JKU sahara, loved it bone stock, I said I wasn't gonna upgrade it unless i found a reason. I road tripped that thing all across the country, up and down every mountain road, pike's peak, you name it, all over the rockies. Was in a freak tornado in deer park texas, lol apart from mud, never found a reason to "upgrade" it.

Traded it in on this 2025 JT Mojave. I know it's not very jeep of me to like the longer wheelbase, but it sure adds some comfort on the cross country treks the wife and i do. I like the wheel base, just wish the overhang wasn't as long. So who knows it might get bobbed, they sure look cool and unique when done right.

The mojave just offered what I wanted out of a jeep. I will use it for what it's made for a lot more than i ever would a rubicon. I do lots of trails, and our beaches you can literally go as fast as you want, there are stretches 20-30-40 miles long that are just out there bfe nowhere and no one around. It's fantastic wheeling. Then you got the texas hill country, man some great off-roading.

So i bought the JT Mojave for its purpose built upgrades because i'll actually use it. 2-3 inch lift, pizza cutter 35's i think will be the perfect setup for it.

Fair enough and I appreciate the explanation.

I'm fine with the 3.6L it has done well.
I am doing something soon that should have came standard on every JT I will be installing LED headlights.
The engine winds up well. And it is enough.

So I just spent a week with a new 4Runner. Short version is it's noisy, like I'm driving next to someone's powerstroke diesel, and for ~$60k MSRP it should be more refined, imo. It did get 22.6mpg for the trip, and I was not light on the throttle.

Visited the families back home and we rented rather than driving (~13hr drive 1 way) the JT. The Santa Fe is the least likely option... I'd rather take our older A4 with worn wheel bearings.

Jeep definitely had unmentionable relations with a canine when it came to future development to the JT/JL powerplant. Jeep is so far behind it's not going to be able to keep up without sabotaging the entire brand.

The 4Runner is powered by a 4-banger turbo that is a 276hp/317tq (Tacoma is the same). Colorado/Canyon is 310/430. Ranger and Bronco is 315/400.

Put that against the Jeep's tired 285/260 6cyl.

Without dramatic improvements in the powerplant (maybe even chassis?), Jeep won't be able to attract new buyers - people are flocking to the Bronco now that the issues are resolved and Ford trimmed the packages down.

My opinion is that Jeep is just depending on their name to keep them going. What I see is Jeep is being left in the dust. They change pretty much nothing year to year but are charging way too much now for what you get compared to other companies.

When the Bronco debuted, I always said that competition is good and it’ll force Jeep to step their game up in order to compete and/or stay on top. They’re barely holding onto the top spot right now and won’t be for much longer if they don’t start doing more than gimmicky extra trim packages.

Jeep: Hey now, we change a lot from year to year! We offered the colored grille and the big wide touch screen that no one asked for! Not to mention we constantly change the colors available to each trim level.

We change so much here at Jeep, old Johnson down in Accounting has 5 different pocket protectors, one for each day of the week! Oh no, we're not the old stodgy Jeep anymore.

You drove a taco, and basically said tacos are better than ribeye steaks. Hardly.

I wouldn't care if the 4runner/ranger/bronco/whatever had 900hp. It doesn't make the JT "obsolete". One's engine power output doesn't change it's off-road capacity. Wouldn't change the fact that 4runners/rangers/raptors/broncos all eat their corn the long way and the ladies know this now days.

Especially the 4banger turbos, what a crock of junk that is. If you can't do it with a v6 and 285 horspers is it really worth doing???

Main thing that kept us out of a 24, when they were on the lots with our 23, was the weird fabric overlay on the 24 dash, and the bigger screen lol.

The fabric is definitely strange.

I'd like the wider screen though.

Not enough to buy another one 😄

The 3.6L is currently the only option in the JT, but you can still get the 2.0t in the JL. What's weird is it is only rated 270/295 and yet the Jeep walks the Bronco in every comparison video I've seen. You'll have to explain to me how similar weight and 45hp and 105ftlbs advantage makes the Ford slower? Then there's the Moab 392 that's barely over $70k that Ford/Toyota/ anyone else has nothing remotely close. The JT could use some powertrain options, but I'd still take any of the 3 JL options over anything from Ford or Toyota. Funny how everyone wants to jump on Jeep because Toyota finally upgraded their lineup from the 5 speed auto and v6 combo they ran for 2 decades. Jeep is still THE benchmark in the off road world and anybody who doesn't see that probably doesn't wheel very hard and likely doesn't even need 4wd for the forest roads that give the illusion that any of the competitors can keep up. There's a reason why the sales figures make it seem close but everytime you're out on a trail like the rubicon or John Bull or Pritchett Canyon it's 99% Jeeps. You'll see more solid axle Toyotas than any of them with the Honda civic IFS they've been running since the mid 80s. Bronco sightings are even more rare on hard trails.

They literally take up soon much of the dash and are distracting. I love my 8.4 to me its perfect size whats next a 35" 4kUHD TV with a annoying on board AI voice replying to every part of your conversations.

What? There's fabric on the dash? I haven't noticed this. Seems like a poor choice for a vehicle that can get the interior wet.......

Exactly what my wife said, "you'll ruin that the first time you touch it" 😂

The screen, sticks out oddly compared to the 8.4, but it's whatever, the dash fabric though, was a no go lol. Especially when the Mojave 23 was going to be like 5k cheaper than the Willy's 24.
