How do one pick that up and put it away once inside the truck?
Like I said earlier, attach a lanyard to the step and you can pull it inside once you're in.

This is the one I keep in my LJ. I drilled a small hole through the top and attached a paracord lanyard, then tied a carabiner to the other end so it can be clipped in easy reach and allow one's hands to stay free while getting in.

I bought the Rough Country retractable running boards. My wife had both her knees replaced and she had a hard time using the stock boards. The retractable ones were the answer for her. They are a little pricey but worth it plus they give the rocker panel a clean look.

lol. I have one of those altitude challenged wives :)

At least my reading comprehension is working today. I almost read that as "attitude-challenged wives."

I can suggest options for guys who have spouses who have difficulty getting into the Jeeps (stock height or lifted):

Go down to the local gym and find a young single hottie. Time to trade in for a younger model. :like::LOL:

I'm joking, as I'm almost in that group myself. My wife is 5'2" - tall enough to qualify federal regulations to be a flight attendant (her own words). With 37s and ~3" lift, we're as high as we can go without difficulty for her. And if we take the JT somewhere "nice" she has to be careful what she wears.

Eventually I want to put on the electric running board/rails. Those seem like the best option.

To avoid a sensitivity to referring to girls at the gym as "single young hotties", please use the term PYT's. It is an acronym for "pretty young thing". Its use may be interpreted as an automotive term. Maybe. One can hope.

If you're old enough to use that, your spouse is old enough to remember Michael Jackson using it, too. :CWL:

Would that be something Bill Cosby would be familiar with?
Possibly but he liked the Rohypnol, or LSD or something else.

My ridiculously lifted K20 came with a metal milk crate on a rope the older gentleman would just swing up into the bed after he got in lol.

Another vote for the Go Rhino Dominator D1! As you can see it provides about 10" of step between the board and door opening and you still have 14" of ground clearance on stock 17 Rubicon wheels and tires.
I chose it because there is a slight drop and a tube that prevents toe ding damage to the Gladiator body every time you get in.

Yes, that's an 'active' pedal on the left. Not the dead pedal for which some pay extra.
