Full agreement with you about the aux delete. I've seen many posts over the years of issues people have had but me personally, I haven't had a problem. If I do, I'll get rid of it. The Tazer doesn't completely get rid of start/stop, more like 95%. My Tazer works perfectly as long as I remember to cycle through the settings every once in a while. If I forget though, after a few weeks it will lose the live features. That was in the 22 gas model, maybe it will be different in the diesel. That should be plenty good enough for the diesel.
The AUX battery delete is a personal thing.
My opinion is, I'd only delete if I was gonna also delete the start stop (ESS) some way. Even if it's the Tazer route, where it remembers the switch position.
There are a lot of electronics in these Jeeps and that aux battery is there to help protect them during the restart of a ESS event.
I left the aux battery in both of our diesel Jeeps. When it was time for new batteries, I just made sure I used quality batteries.
I do like the method in the video Rusty PW posted. But you still need to do something about the ESS.
I am waiting now for the new aux battery to fully charge. Getting to it in the diesel is so easy, can't believe they didn't design all JTs this way. It has been on the charger now for over an hour so we'll know if that was the remote start issue shortly.
