A few days ago I ordered a Banks Derringer and iDash to use along with a Pedal Monster on my 23 JTRD. Last night I installed the iDash and connected it with the Pedal Monster. I’m waiting for the weekend to install the Derringer because it looks like it may take longer.

After getting things connected and turned on the phone app sees the PM fine but it doesn’t see the iDash even after a firmware update. This morning I called Banks tech and they tell me the iDash that’s compatible with the 3.0 ecodiesel doesn’t have Bluetooth so it doesn’t work with the app. The iDash they sent me is the iDash 1.8 DataMonster part# 66760. A quick search of the forums didn’t find a definitive answer but I’m fairly sure I’ve seen posts from people who have all three Banks devices and a working phone app.

Does anyone here use all three and the app?

I don't think mine works with bluetooth either. My JT is in the shop so I can't verify that but I know that in the APP it says iDASH Pro and I know I don't have the Pro model. The derringer install isn't too bad. It took me about an hour or so get it done. You have probably already seen this but just in case you haven't:

I have all 3. It's not Bluetooth. Got my stuff in early '23.

Not having bluetooth isn't necessarily a bad thing but it would have been nice to know. After installing it, I spent another couple of hours taking it back out to see if I had pinched a wire or put one of the grab handle bolts through one. It is my fault, I should have tested it more completely before putting the Jeep back together. That really wouldn't have helped though because until talking with them this morning, I thought all iDash models came with bluetooth since the ones listed on their site all do. After the call this morning, I googled it and apparently the iDash models that have been discontinued or superseded by newer models did not have it. I guess they stopped building for it after Jeep killed the 3.0 JT and JL. Nothing to do about it now, I just feel dumb for trouble shooting an issue that didn't exist.

Thank you for the video. I watched several before installing the derringer and I think that one showed the most detail. It ended up taking a little over two hours but that was going very slow and careful. No one with any sense would ever pay me to mechanic by the hour. I can take a fairly straight forward install and make it last two or three as long as it should. When finally finished though, it is right.

Th Banks is the first inline tuner I’ve ever used. I didn’t know what to expect but I’m surprised how much more power it has now. Today I’m off work so I’m going to drive around and play with it and get more accustomed to the iDash.

I have the IDash Pro #66711, With Bluetooth. Purchased within the last year. Can’t imagine how difficult it would be to navigate through everything without the App.

Glad to hear it went well and you are liking it. When I went to install mine I watched a few and they always seemed to skip a step or just didn't show everything but this one was very thorough so glad it helped you as well. The one thing I always forget to do with the Derringer and Pedal Monster is disable them when I go Rock Crawling. It's always 2 hours into the trip and I can't figure out why I am flying over the obstacles instead of taking it nice and slow when I realize that I still have the Pedal Monster and Derringer turned on. If you do plan on going wheeling try to remember to turn them off it makes it much more enjoyable on the trail when you want to go slow and ease over stuff with a light pedal.

Trying to get the different idash screens setup is what I'm having trouble with. When using the app, can you configure the layout on your phone?

Yes with the 66711 gauge layout and gauge choice is configured in the App.
When first installed I had to get the App to setup everything. It was easy.
Since I have added oil and transmission pan temperature sensor’s. These I had to add on the IDash. Not as easy.
Each time a phone call to Banks was required. Very helpful.
From talking to Banks Tech the 66711 is continuously updated. When I originally purchased/installed (mid ‘25) Mopar would not allow banks to show/access transmission temps or engine oil pressure. About a month ago transmission temps
became available. Oil pressure is still not. Banks said hopefully within a couple of months.

For
Clarity, I have a ‘21 JTRD.

That is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll call them in the morning and see what I need to do to move to the 66711. I doubt they will let me exchange this one because I had to cut the threaded studs off the back to install it in an upper stealth pod, but hopefully they will be able to do something. Trying to configure it on the small screen with buttons is frustrating. So far I've only been able to get one screen setup to show 8 parameters. The others I have some how accidentally lowered so they now only show one of two options. I'm going to try again in a few minutes but may end up resetting it to the default layout so I can start again from scratch.

Verify with Banks. Thinking if you get the 66711 it would allow you to have 2 bluetooth working IDash. Upper and lower pods. Both would show up on the App.

Yes I think so too and that would be convenient. I did get the layout working yesterday. Apparently my usual, keep hitting buttons until it does what I want, does not work with the idash. Once I got close enough to the screen to read the tiny writing it was much easier

Had to leave my number with Banks this morning and they called back a few minutes ago. What they tell me is that the Derringer needs my non bluetooth modem iDash to function correctly. They said I can add the 66711 as a secondary display that would be controllable with Bluetooth. They did say the 66711 when used as the only iDash would be able to get some readings but not all. Also, if it was used as a secondary display with my current iDash, it would be the only one to show up on the app.

Hope you don’t mind but that leaves me with a few questions for you. Do you have a derringer? If so, are you using two iDash units or only the 66711? Is that why you added the extra sensors?

I do not have a Derringer or Pedal Monster. Just the I-Dash 66711. Not sure why I picked that one. Thinking I did the “which one is best for you” on the Banks website, that’s the one I got.
Bluetooth, derringer or pedal monster was not something I wanted. I only wanted to add my own sensors for verifying fluid temps and pressure readings. I don’t like waiting for the off-road pages to load. When you do wait, then switch to a different screen…you wait again.
When I first installed, I called Banks because I couldn’t check box the transmission temps and engine oil pressure, in the App. The tech said Mopar did not allow it.
The next time I called, when adding the sensors I wanted. The tech was more chatty. So after getting what I needed I went back to transmission temps and oil pressure readings. He immediately knew the trans temps were now available. Oil pressure would soon be available. Further explaining that every time I open the App, the IDash is updated.
The APP has hundreds of sensors choices. If it has a green thumb next to it, Mopar lets Banks show it. Very few do not have a green thumb.
The bummer is when I add an oil pan temp sensor I must call it something in the pre configured list. I cannot name it.
