Yup...Whatever happened to *Tread Lightly*? Not necessarily the non-profit thing/website but the thought behind it.....

That phrase was the rule-book for proper and responsible offroading back 25 years ago.
I don't believe there was a tread lightly campaign in early the 80's.
but i could be wrong!

We cleaned up any trash as well when we were bouncing around out west.
visiting ghost towns and old mines were my favorite!

I hate seeing garbage on the trail. So thoughtless. I try to pick things up when possible.
The cans found on the ground help pay for fuel.

I love wheeling in AZ!!!! That’s where I started out and then moved to Cali though so just the reverse. I think the thing I liked most wheeling there was the trails changed quicker than they do in California. You can run the same trail once a month for 10 months and it going to change probably 5-6 times within that time frame. Always keeps it interesting. I agree with you on the rocks but I feel more at home in a boulder field with some pumpkin sized rocks than I do with an open stretch of sand. Sand kicks my azz almost every time. :CWL:

I agree on the "wheeling in AZ". LOVE it!!! I was referring to riding off-road motorcycles in AZ - especially up in the mountains where I live. Anytime you can see elevation change - either up or down - it can get pretty brutal, pretty fast. For an old man, it can take a lot of stamina. More work and less fun than I want as an "old man". That's mostly why I switched to jeeping.

It's unfortunate a few have to ruin the experience. I snowmobiled in my youth, so I take the same approach from that to anything outdoorsy. Everyone comes off the mountain/trail/lake.

Good because it was just as frustrating for me in CO as it is here in the SE. I used to find trash everywhere out there and an absurd amount of brass. You’d think it would be worse in GA, but there’s way more shooting on public lands in CO. Trash was about the same in both

The U tube videos I see show the Az trails as many well used dirt roads that my Ram 2500 could easily travel. The Ram has a lot more room in it for truck camping and with my Thuren soft ride suspension and 37s it should do them nicely.
