What did you do about protecting your suspension reservoir? Did it work with your stock skid plate?
Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to answer that. It worked perfectly with the stock skid plate.

I did the Warn Evo 12S inside the stock plastic bumper on my mojave. Didnt notice any difference and its a 3rd vehicle so i dont baby it. I tried measuring, it was 0.0-0.25".
the 12s weighs 53.5lbs, i weighed it myself. thats without the hook or the LOD plate i used (+15lbs?)

The plastic bumper install is a little work, if i did it again, id look at the aluminum front bumper option. But i like how its covered mostly.

They dont bottom out sooner, you just have a little less travel because instead of a hard dead stop on a rubber bump stop, you have some travel on a hydraulic bump stop that makes THE most un-nerving clunky noise.

Mojave's already have a 1" higher front end over the others.

I used the rugged ridge arcus bumper. Works great for the Mojave. Let’s you use factory skid plate, and keep the shock Reservoir in same place no modification. Would hit bump stops. Replaced factory springs with Mojave x springs made for Mojave that comes with metal bumper. This fixed bump stop problem. Same spring number is used on both sides.
part number is 68607513AB.

The best and worst thing about adding a winch and bumper is all the choices. I would get one you like the looks of. I like the full width bumpers since they keep things off the tires when needed and looked at to many options. I like the ARB bumpers but could not justify the cost. I added the knock off Mopar 19th anniversary due to it looking like the factory option if i was looking today would consider the Aluminum skinned version for the same reason low enough cost and durable enough for most trails you can even remove the extensions and have a stubby for medium core stuff. I used the included winch mount to install my old warn winch just swapped the steel line for Xbull synthetic to take off some weight. i haven't found any issue with the suspension i believe it dropped the front a 1/2 inch. I reused the Mojave skid plate after trimming the front two corners a little to clear the bumper and trimming notches into the lower back edge of the bumper to clear the skid and reservoir brackets it looked like it should have been trimmed when they manufacture it since the bumpers inner structure had a notch already just cut the skin to match.

Did you only replace the front springs??

A couple of questions...

Did adding a winch/bumper to your Mojave affect your ride (suspension), and did your front end drop much?

Since the Mojave has an additional reservoir near the front bumper and behind the OEM skid plate, has anyone found a bumper that would work well with the OEM skid plate? Are there any suggestions for bumper/skid plate combinations to purchase?

I would like to keep my Mojave suspension stock and am looking for the best option to add a winch/bumper. Mine came with the plastic bumper.

Thank you,

Fred
Yes, weight is an issue with the Mojave. I am using a Rock Hard aluminum front (and rear) bumber with a Warn Zeon10 winch. The bumper has an integrated skid to protect the shock reservoirs and it actually weighs less than the OEM plastic bumper. I run steel cable but you can save more weight if you run synthetic.

Superwinch 12k with Arcus bumper. Stock skid plate with no modifications: Barely noticeable drop and no regrets

Great information. I second the comment on all the choices. Thank you

It is easy to add one or two hundred pounds with a steel front bumper and winch. I was able to keep the additional weight down at about 70 lb using the Arcus bumper and HF 12k winch with synthetic rope. Even so, the front end is a little lower and bottoms out somewhat easier.

The X springs were designed to make up for the weight of the OEM 3 piece steel bumper in the front and the OEM steel rear bumper in the rear.

I haven’t added the rear bumper yet and not sure if I will. I might add a topper so I think my next upgrade might be the X springs front and rear. Going with a small lift would possibly be better, but I’m not interested in making it taller other than for looks. I’m able to run a 37” tire easily and not make it too tall for my older dog. I also don’t want to change the steering geometry yet. I’ve done that in the past with mixed results. I just want my fox shock sweet spot back that I lost from adding the MOPAR front bumper.

I found and bought a small foldable step that I keep in the bed or the back for those that need a boost, and I still have the 33 Wildpeaks on it.

Fox Shocks: The entire reason I went with just getting the Mojave X springs. There are other things you can do, including getting stiffer springs and then having them cut to the length you need to fit. Doesn't cost much at any fab shop to do so.

But from everything I've read and people I've asked, a stiffer spring on the Mojave, at the correct length to keep it in the sweet spot for the Fox shocks makes the entire system drive and feel far better and stable.
