Does a winch/bumper affect a Mojave

A couple of questions...

Did adding a winch/bumper to your Mojave affect your ride (suspension), and did your front end drop much?

Since the Mojave has an additional reservoir near the front bumper and behind the OEM skid plate, has anyone found a bumper that would work well with the OEM skid plate? Are there any suggestions for bumper/skid plate combinations to purchase?

I would like to keep my Mojave suspension stock and am looking for the best option to add a winch/bumper. Mine came with the plastic bumper.

I installed a Mopar steel bumper with a winch on my 22 Mojave. I lost about 1/2" up front and hit my hydraulic bump stops pretty much on every speed bump. I opted for a Rubicon skid plate because i didnt want to modify the Mojave skid plate. With the Warn winch plate, I was able to fit the reservoirs in the stock location. Then i installed 1/2" pucks up front which lessen the bump stops hitting. Still feels like factory on and off road.

It will bottom out way more and it already bottomed out easily. The front end feels way heavier with just the MOPAR steel bumper. I will either add the X springs or rip out the suspension completely.

I wanted to go lightweight so I got this bumper a year ago. It works with the OEM skid plate.

I was hitting the bumpstops a lot so I ended up adding a lift with stiffer springs and now it’s not as bad.

LOD Black Ops steel bumper, Xbull winch, not a problem for me.

Must be driving too slow or something.

There’s a thread here about using the eBay aluminum bumper with a winch.

I decided to give it a shot as I

like the OEM look but didn’t want the weight of a steel bumper.
Im almost finished (just have to tiddy up the wiring) but so far I’m really liking it.

I have the AEV suspension kit so it’s designed for a winch…

I installed a LOD shorty bumper and a Badlands Apex winch. I dropped about 3/4" in the front. It hasn't affected anything else that I know of.

The Mojave suspension is great when no extra weight is added, but I've already had to replace the front shocks under warranty with 15K miles on them.

What did you do about protecting your suspension reservoir? Did it work with your stock skid plate?
