Got it. I just thought now it was referred to as a 3.0.

But back in the day, I had a 327 Chevy and 360 AMC Jeep engine. So I guess we get sentimental at times.
Your right, it is referred to as 3.0 or EcoDiesel. I was just being a smartass, since the post I quoted said 345 and 392, instead of 5.7 and 6.4.
Figured some would get it and some wouldn't.

3 liter is actually 183.0712 cubic inches. I had a Nissan 3L V6 that was 180 cubic inches. Manufacturers play around with displacement numbers.

I remember way back we would have the heads CC ed for exact size.
I think it's odd that there is no way to get more HP out of our 3.6 .
But I have a plan to get a V8 . Buy a new JT sport. Have a V8 installed . No smog test required for 7 or 8 years on a new vehicle. Then sell it out of Calif.

This Wagoneer I scrapped Saturday has a Nash 327.

Displacement is just math and a Lil advertising.

Is your smog test in Cali just stricter numbers on the stuff coming out of the tailpipe?

I recall when I lived in NJ many years ago and I failed my test. I simply ran it down nearly empty, went to the hardware store, bought a gallon of methanol and poured it into the gas tank.

It ran like shit since it was probably about a third or so methanol (I'm guessing only a couple gallons of gas left since I ran it down to nothing). But I did easily pass the test then refilled it with regular gas.

Opppsss, not that I actually did it, but it must have been a friend of mine. I would not do anything like that but it was a friend, yes, a friend of mine did it. Not me.

Here, smog tests no longer test what is coming out of the tail pipe on newer vehicles. It gets a pass or fail from the car computer emissions system.

Link the video from over a year ago when he called the Rumble Bee?

Odd that he's not in person with TFL Truck and all the other journalists at the reveal today.

Ask and ye shall receive.

3:51 in this video Tim himself admits that TK (one of the "three amigos") was leaking accurate info.

In California they do a visual inspection and make sure the check engine light in the dash functions and it is not on. If you have any mods or newer parts they may check they are legal or were legal mods or replacements when you put them on. A lot of parts come with an EO number sticker to put by the main sticker under the hood to make it easier to look up aftermarket performance parts. Since the check relies on a visual check the tech can make a difference parts that look like they are stock can often skate by unoticed and internals usually are good unless they put the engine out of the parameters in the software. Since it runs self checks on the various systems when conditions are right for each self test the computor checks them off as it does them without most of the tests completed it will fail and require a retest a lot of decent shops ask if the vehicle sits or has had the battery disconected recently if so they will plug in a scan tool and make sure it is ready if not tell you to drive it around for a few days. The vapor recovery sytem seems to require the most precise conditions to run its tests often making it the last one completed after the battery has been disconnected some say there is still an exemption if it has not tested vapor and all the others have been completed do not know for sure. They also test the fuel cap since it holds in the fuel vapor from the tank and allows the system to be presurised to run the leak test.

I could not imagine being able to pass something that does not run right by running to much methanol since the fuel mixture would be off if you were beyond what the computor could adjust for it should show a code maybe misfires or bad O2 sensor but maybe if it had already run all the tests and did not encounter the conditions to reself test in that case it probably would have passed anyway.
