I'll update this post once I hear back from the other 2.

Roll n lock - Bill S at customer support said they're about 4-6 weeks out from having something.
Retrax - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN CUZ OF FUEL FILLER BUMP NOTCHING REQUIRED
Pace Edwards - Ed Brooks - We do hope to have our covers out for this truck by the end of next month.

AWESOME - The pace edwards looks nice....Can't wait for more info.

Hey what do you all think of the rld design steel canopy? I am in need of some sort of canopy with roof rack options and I want to put my dog in the back, but i'm concerned its going to get too hot! I like that its lockable and there is a window though. Its also pretty damn expensive at over 3k. If not this, then are there any better options out there i should be looking at?
Whoa $3k... but then again, it may be worth it.

I need to find better pictures. Probably on the site, but it’s hard to navigate with my phone.

OMG, so sad. This might ruin all retractable tops.

This is from Jeremy S. at Retrax
"
Unfortunately we are not going to make a cover for the Jeep Gladiator. The gas tank has an angled guard that protrudes on the inside of the bed which does not allow our canister to sit down in the bed. Also there is no place to clamp our rail to. For these reasons we are choosing not to build a cover for this truck.

shit just when i thought I was sold on buying the nuthouse tech 3.... decisions decisions.

I feel exactly the same way. I like the closed look more... plus nuthouse hasn’t answered my emails :(

I’ll find out about both, as much as I can.

This is why I love this forum. every day I find something else I feel like I have to have or do to my gladiator, and it doesn't even exist yet lol

@Bobs85Reny can you do this with the topper in color matched white to a white JT with black side door
and also color matched to a Gator on the stainless with a black side door?

i'm a huge PITA, sorry, do you think it would look better flip/flopped. Black canopy with white doors? Some photos of that below. too......OPTIONS! I'm thinking black doors, otherwise there would be SO MUCH BODY COLOR ON IT.....anyways, i'm not a design guy.

i'll try to find more photos of it if I can.

Actually if you just google RLD Design cap canopy you find a lot of stuff.

I spoke to RLD Design - or at least their distributor here in Seattle WA.

He says he thinks there are about 3 toppers left that can be ordered for that August delivery mentioned on the site. The next shipment would not be till about 1.5-2 months later.
They basically will delivery anywhere in the US, you can install yourself or have a shop do it. I'm in NJ, so shipping to me would be about $275-300. That's on top of any options, there are a few options mentioned on the site. I think the Tacoma one has some more pictures and videos too.

He said it's probably going to weigh what the Tacoma one weighs, which is about 165 lbs.

I spoke to the folks at Nuthouse Industries.

They are currently taking reservation (orders) for January 2019. The build takes on average a week, maybe more depending on options.
Although the site does not specifically call out the Gladiator, they do have some local folks with gladiators that they are working with to get all the measurements dialed in. This may mean some slight adjustment on pricing.
They will also ship anywhere (freight), but they do have a full service shop in Ohio, so the install could be done there. That's probably what I would do...

Both RLD and Nuthouse mentioned that an interesting thing is that the Gladiator has straight lines - the cab is basically a box. Most other trucks are not, so the design of the racks will be slightly different from their current racks because of that.

Since there has been talk of a homemade and/or 80/20 rack/topper, I took some pics of a Sport S with no 'trail rails' and no bedliner. I wanted to see what attachment points are possible.

First, the height from the top of the bed rail to the top of a hard top is 22" at the outer edge, but 23" at the center raised points.

The walls of the bed expose threads of welded nuts for mounting 'trail rails' as well as their tonneau covers. These could very well be used as attachment points for custom jobs. The grommets at the right & left would make it easy to run wire into the bed area to power anything you want powered in your custom topper.

Two welded nuts are visible under the lip of the rail near the tailgate on both sides. Looks like part of the plastic bed rail protector can be removed to access the nuts pictured. (sorry about the nose pic)

The bed rail liner could be removed entirely via these plastic clips. Doing so would expose holes in the top of the bed rail that could also be used for mounting various racks or covers. I think there were 4 clips on each rail.

As previously noted, the fuel tank enclosure may prevent certain covers from being installed.

Installing a power outlet after the fact may not require any cutting. Seems like the bed wall has a plastic cover over the hole that would have been used for the factory outlet.

I'm glad they're taking this into account.
