Ok @steffen707 further to my yesterday’s post here’s a few pictures of the step. As you will see it does not stick down any further than my factory trailer hitch does. It’s actually a tad higher than the trailer hitch. And FYI I just took a good, up close look at the bottom of the pad and exactly where the bottom of the rest of my bed step is. And it’s actually the exact same level. So you would not gain any extra clearance by taking the pad off to go off roading. You could move the pad a tad closer to the trailer hitch. Note the 2 empty screw hole spaces where the 3 screws are.

I have a bike rack that holds 3 bikes and another rack that holds just one bike, really love that single bike rack. I got it about 15 years ago from a Jeep dealership. It’s a Jeep Overland Rack. I added a full set of lights to the rack: brake, turn signals and night time running lights. Made my own brackets, used small LED lights and wired it up. As you will see with the rack folded up, when I drop the tailgate down the rack does not hit the tailgate, got about 4 inches of clearance. Also note my bikes Bluetooth speaker. I listen to rock while I roll on my Specialized Roll bike. No need to get the Gladiators Bluetooth speaker. This thing takes up much less space, costs truck loads less and sounds great.

And please folks no funny comments about a guy with a gals bike. They call it a low entry bike. And for a guy in his 60’s I don’t feel like climbing over a guys high bar on a guys bike. It’s a great, fun bike to ride. And as you can see I got it all do dadded up. I likes it. Great exercise!

I’m thinking about doing the day star 2” lift. How is the ride comfort and steering after the mods ?

Well, I haven't been able to drive it a TON since yesterday but here is what I've noticed: at lower speeds up to, say, 60-65 MPH it's great. Can't tell a difference really. I got it up to 70-75 for a brief moment and I felt a good bit of vibration or shimmy. The tire pressures are a bit off right now, I was going to try and get them all close to even, around 35-37 PSI and try it again. If I still get that shimmy I may have to take it back to where they installed the kit and have them look at it. I will post more over the next several days as I drive it more.

I would try lowering that pressure down to 30psi. The bigger the tire roughly less air you need from what I gathered. I just dropped my stock 33" wildpeaks to 30psi and huge difference in ride comfort and overall driving feel.

Ok, I may try that. Right now one tire is at 46, another is at 39, then 41 and 42 I think. Not sure why they didn't at least try to get them close when they mounted and balanced them. lol...

Don't trust the dash reads. Use a tire gauge. My dash reads are all off, from 31- 46. Gauge reads 34 on all 4.

Mine actually seems to be fairly accurate. I had my Smittybuilt compressor and ARB deflator with me and the guages on those were pretty close to the dash. Within a pound or so.
