Agreed. In this case I was simply offering a contrarian view to people saying 5th and 6th were totally useless. I think it could be done better but it’s not completely useless.Seems that you should just drive it and enjoy and stop worrying about much else.
I hear exhaust helps so you can hear the engine rpm. Manuals have start stop as well.my order is finally coming in. Cant wait I haven't owned a stick in about 9 years anybody having any issue. I"m reading that the exhaust system make a difference . also do the manual"s have auto shut when you come to a complete start
They do have the auto start stop, which I immediately put a Tazer in which shut that sh*t down.my order is finally coming in. I might be the minority here but I actually like the auto start stop in my manual. Usually I'm pretty good at predicting how long I'll be stopping at a stop light so if it's more than 14 seconds I'll activate the ess, if not, I'll slightly press the clutch in so it won't activate while my left foot is still at a comfortable position. However, if I'm in traffic or have the ac on hard I'll deactivate it because that gets a little annoying. If I was driving an automatic I would not like it as much for sure. They do have the auto start stop, which I immediately put a Tazer in which shut that sh*t down.
I needed it to do tire pressure and tire size anyways, fringe benefit. It doesn't program it out per se... it remembers the last state on next startup, so shut it off and shut the Jeep off, and it will remember it going forward.
I came across a video for a Gladiator a couple months back, but quickly found a similar video for a JL and its the same process as a JT. Yall may be aware of this already, but you can unplug the "right" plunger (closer to driver fender) on the core support to deactivate the Auto/Start/Stop. It will illuminate a dummy light on your command center that look like the " @ " auto/start/stop icon, but if you can live with that, you wont have to worry about it turning off on you anymore. it takes 2.5second to do it.I might be the minority here but I actually like the auto start stop in my manual. They do. They also have a keyless start, and that button is right next to the on/off for the auto shutoff. Obviously there are aftermarket parts you can get, but if you just make it a quick two-step process of tapping both buttons in sequence from day 1, you’ll be good. The only reason I disable it is to save wear and tear on the starter. If you’re not worried about that, by time you press the clutch, shift and depress the gas pedal, it will be 100% on. I suspect this feature is actually way more annoying in an automatic than in a manual.my order is finally coming in. Cant wait I haven't owned a stick in about 9 years anybody having any issue. Hey could you explain what the auto start is? And do you have to lift the red ring to go into reverse??Yep. I'm overwhelmingly happy with it... and happy to be back in a manual with a well appointed truck. I've got leather seats, a nice radio, lots of cool gingerbread... and a manual!
Auto start is basically a method of minimize the amount of excess emissions produced from idling while at a stop. The engine actually shuts off, and then when you release the brake and press the throttle an the generator motor on the engine engages to get the vehicle moving up to a certain point an then the engine takes over. Its a pain in the A$$ when youre in stop and go traffic unless you turn it off.. and yes, you have to pull up on the red ring to engage reverse for the manual transmission. Basically 1st and reverse are just about the same position, but you can only engage reverse if the ring is pulled up.Hey could you explain what the auto start is? It's also supposed to improve MPG. How much will depend on how much time you spend at stoplights. It is frankly marginal gains on both fronts. I use it and don't mind it, doing my small part for the planet, LOL as I drive a big, gas thirsty Jeep. But it's easy to turn off or to defeat entirely if you so desire.Auto start is basically a method of minimize the amount of excess emissions produced from idling while at a stop. Thank you this helped a lot. And one more question. How do you turn off the auto start?Auto start is basically a method of minimize the amount of excess emissions produced from idling while at a stop. It’s a button much like a hazard button on the center dash area just to the right of the push button ignition and looks like “@“Thank you this helped a lot. And one more question. How do you turn off the auto start?
