I suppose it could just be the CRD, but the CRD has already been officially announced and these also have manufacturer plates. And then in the comments...

Huh. After all this time staring at JTs (including their arse-ends), I never noticed the location of the third brake light. Smart (I mean Jeep, not me; I'm obviously oblivious).

Diesel isn't close to electric. Plug in hybrid is however.

I think they’re saying close because a different power train is the right answer. The left side of the tailgate is cropped and that’s where the 3.0 D badge goes

And also the left tires are on that side. It could be a three wheeled version. Sneaky indeed

Wasn't there going to be some pseudo hybrid thing where they use the alternator like an electric motor to move the engine from a start? I remember reading about that a while back

Edit: eTorque is what it's called in the ram
I wonder how the eTorque system would work in 4low? I can't seem to find any write-ups on it

Hard to tell for sure but the fender vent looks to be solid plastic, no venting. Could also be the angle.

The point I was trying to make is that we've seen the left side of the diesel already. We know what the fuel door looks like.

That photo at the top of the Red JT, is just a Rubicon JT. The fender vent is real, the top hood vents are not.
The exhaust on the JT’s is on the left side, as is the fuel door.

The 4-cylinder E Tourque engine is only available on the JL, not the JT, and from my understanding, it has a generator, which is also the starter, and gets a E Boost and dynamic braking from the generator. So you save gas, and save brakes. Nice idea, but what they need to do, is have a Hybrid setup like the Chevy Volt, where the engine drives a generator, and the driveline is all electric.

That could be very interesting indeed especially if they include outlets to power an RV, tools, etc. from the battery. Rumor has it the upcoming PHEV F150 will do this as well.

The JT has an option for a 120VAC outlet I. The bed, right side rear, near the tailgate.
Cheers

Can’t wait for the LA Auto Show next month. Motor Trend ran a blurb a few months ago about a 2020 plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler and a plug-in hybrid Gladiator six months later.
