So is the sport base the only version that has a matching spare that can be included in a 5 tire rotation?? Except no TPMS in the spare?

@Jake thank you SO much for posting the door card showing GVWR and payload.

Do you have a tow package on this vehicle?

Jeep Gladiator Base Sport has arrived- not a Sport S 7093FA56-858F-4475-A48F-D3FB909B25B6
I have looked under all models: base Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon models. And every model has the attached spare tire under them. This is a generic steel wheel. Does not match anything. It’s just meant to be used to get you to a tire repair shop. So I went ahead and bought another matching black base Sport model wheel. When I get a flat I just don’t want to have a miss matched wheel on my truck. So for now I ride with these wheels, 5 of them all matching. If it ever really bothers me later on then I might change to something else. Need to get my dealership lower the spare to see if it has a tire pressure sensor on it or not. If it doesn’t have it on the spare then I will buy a sensor from the dealership while I am there.

So is the sport base the only version that has a matching spare that can be included in a 5 tire rotation?? Except no TPMS in the spare?

The sales guy and I put it on and bolted it up. Took about 5 to 10 minutes. It was 2 bolts on each side and 2 more bolts for the back of it. I had already assembled the side pieces myself, just 4 bolts.

how long was bestop install with 2?
is one of the first mods i am doing when i buy mine

I just paid $250 for the trailer hitch, did not want or need any heavy duty tow package. I have a small trailer that hauls 4 kayaks. Kayaks weigh next to nothing. So this will be an easy tow for my truck. And I also have a hitch mounted bike rack that holds 3 bikes. So this hitch will perfectly suit my simple needs

Congrats Jake!

I'm keeping an eye on the audio section of the forums for your stereo pursuits. I'm in the same boat, wating on install kits to drop.

BTW, I kinda like the basic wheels better than the tech silver on the sport S.

Thanks. I will for certain advise what system I put in, it’s features and pictures. Stay tuned. This is the fun part of it.

Jake, I was curious if your JT has the cabin air filter? (I don’t think that comes on the base model with 5” screen?) If not can you install a filter or does it not even have a provision for it?

Love the idea of this base model. It’s funny how things change; my loaded M/T 2006 LJ rubicon is configured virtually the same as yours aside from the rubicon bits, tinted windows and leather steering wheel.

After my last couple week long dirt road trips I’m really wishing I could put a cabin air filter in mine. 3 months later I’m still wheezing on the dust that’s coming out of the HVAC.

Great question @jalbrecht55. And please pardon my ignorance but where should we look to see if I have a cabin air filter? Send me a picture of one in a Sport S or in an Overland or in a Rubicon model and I will be happy to check mine to see if I have one in that same spot. Sorry but I ain’t got no clue where to look. Please point me the way. Happy to check.

it should be located right behind the glove box, you have to take it out and there will be a screen flap you can lift up.

Did not hang on to the window sticker. But I did get a base Sport(not a Sport S). My truck has manual windows, mirrors and locks and a manual transmission. Only options I got was the rubber floor mats, hard top and the $250.00 trailer hitch. Did not need a max tow package. And out of curiosity what does my window sticker have to do with my cabin air filter being there?

Can you please upload a photo or picture of the window sticker?

You should still be able to get your window sticker from this link on the jeep<dot>com website...

https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=

Just copy & add your VIN to the end.
