Samson got @ACE Engineering rock sliders installed. I really like the look and my wife really likes having a step to get into the JT!

It really helps having a shade tree mechanic for a friend that lets you use their heated shop, tools and lends a major hand in the installation:

Sweet!
My Ace sliders should arrive monday. The wait has been driving me nuts.
Mine arrived yesterday - couldn't wait to get them installed. Definitely recommend putting some heat on them before breaking loose (I'm sure you know that already).

Had a bit of a pucker factor breaking the first one loose when it clicked.... we concluded it was the actual loctite letting loose. All bolts came out with a bit of elbow grease and a good size breaker bar.

Felt bad for the Fedex guy that had to pull that box out of the truck. He was smart enough to leave it outside the garage and not take it to the porch!

Looks Awesome!! Seriously considering the red pinstripe to outline the wrap of my tailgate as well.

Truck looks great. Glad to hear yours clicked as well, mine clicked twice and my first thought was the nut broke loose from the weld then once I got the bolt loose it wouldn’t drop out, had to go back and read through some comments and forgot there was a plastic retainer. Did you have any issues popping it loose from the plastic retainers?

I had that happen today as well. We determined it was the Loctite breaking loose. Scared the crap out of me on the first bolt... did not want to have to deal with a broke bolt!
Good to hear, thanks

Yep. Had to pry both rear bolts (driver/passenger side) out after they spun freely. I actually popped the bolt and retainer out on the passenger side front bolt... guess I pulled a little too hard. I was definitely nervous taking these bolts out. Watched a video where a shop broke a customer's front bolt and had to go in through the front fender well to repair. Glad it all went well. Put some Blue Loctite on each bolt and torqued them up. I'll wait a week and check them again to make sure nothing backed down.

With the Ace Engineering Rock Sliders, it makes my Warn Grill Guard not look out of place. My wife did not like the Grill Guard when I mounted it, but after installing the rock sliders, she is happy with the whole set-up.

That looks like a charcoal lighter! How long did you heat the bolts and do you think you heated them long enough?

Looks like the Fish One Outdoors mount puts them slightly higher than KC’s mounts? Look forward to seeing the light up the night shots! :like:

Cerwin Vegas! There’s a brand I haven’t seen since my car audio aficionado days in the early 90s! I’d forgotten about them, but recall they were quality speakers. Thanks for the reminder.

You did a great job, everything is blending in nicely. Just getting back on mine, used a heat gun and it works much better. Yeah I just pulled down on the washer and spun the impact slowly and the bolts popped right out. Gonna clean up the threads on the bolt and probably use some blue loctite as well. Ha, I saw that video earlier and was shacking my head.

Great idea, I was just thinking a that little heat on the Body bolt head would loosen the locktite.... stealing this idea!
