Anybody have numbers of sold 4door wranglers vs 2door wranglers?
Last I heard, 2-door Wrangler sales had fallen to below 20% of total sales. People are starting to wonder how long Jeep will keep it around. I mean, what is FCA's threshold for saying it's not worth it anymore? 10%? 5%?

I already have a 4 door Wrangler, also have a Grand Cherokee , a GMC 2500HD and '94 Chevy S10 ZR2. Saying there is no business case for the J6 is like saying there is no business case for a corvette, camaro, mustang, etc. Any chance to sell more engines, transmissions, frames, drivelines, bodies, interiors, etc. by piggy backing off of existing products seems to be enough of a business case to me not to mention the public outcry to produce it.
Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, etc. ALL outsell the current Gladiator. There's no way that a business case can be made for a 2-door Gladiator. We are fortunate that Jeep was able to get the 4-door model approved for production.

It's probably based on unit sales and not percentage. 20% of 200k wranglers is 40k, which is how many gladiators they sold this year. I think they plan to push to 75-80k gladiators per year, but don't have capacity for much more, so to make a 2 door they'd have to convert part of the line to that, and based on sales of single cab trucks that aren't fleet, they'd be lucky to sell 5k of them. If they were unwilling to create a new set of rear doors for the gladiator, I doubt they'll build another rear cab and bed (assuming they use an existing frame) just for a few thousand unit sales.

I love the concept, my bet is it’s on hold due to the possible baby Bronco intro.

I'll bet Ford doesn't make the same mistake with the Bronco that Jeep made with the Gladiator. Ford will maximize the variants of the Bronco - full size; - "baby Bronco"; - and they've already announced a truck. That's the way to get return on investing in a new model....

When I did own my TJ, I was young and didn't mind the small Jeep as my DD. I really enjoyed the TJ. But, Idk now if I can invest in a small vehicle like that only if it is like my 3rd car.... I think that is why in the US a lot of people opt for the bigger Jeeps, easier with kids and family etc and could use the larger space made available.

Almost seems they could create that beast by just putting a different body/bed tub onto the existing JL chassis.
That's what it is.

It's a Wrangler, not a 2 door Gladiator concept. So it also doesn't have the modifications made to allow the JT to do truck stuff.

I could find lots of "truck stuff" to do with the J6 regardless of what platform it is derived from.

Point is that in terms of towing and payload, the J6 is no different than the Wrangler on which it's built. The Wrangler that most Jeep truck fans find inadequate in those tasks.

I too would like a 2 dr Jeep truck, but built on the JT platform with a full 8' bed. But it isn't the J6.

No one knows what the payload and towing capacity would be for the J6 since it hasn't been developed yet. Yes, the concept J6 is built on a JLU frame but that doesn't mean the J6, if brought to production, wouldn't be built on a shorter JT frame.

While you're daydreaming, can you have it tow 15000#? K, thanks.

Extra cab J6 with no door in the back, sign me up. True regular cab with no capacity to recline or store stuff, absolutely not

I'd like that too, sans the 8' bed. Something in the 6.5' would work for me and look sweet. Shorter frame, different spring rates, etc but wouldn't be a major undertaking to pull off for FCA.
