what do people expect this to do to the bedlights? I have an on/off button already for mine
I’m saying it be nice if we had a switch in the cab to turn bed lights on and stay on vs keeping door open or hit lock button every minute. So instead of a light for drinks and my feet how about the switch be used for bed lights

I'm gonna make your day! There is already such a switch. It's in the same circle where the fog light switch is just to the left of those two dials. The top half of the circle button does the fog lights, the bottom half of the circle button turns on the bed lights. You're welcome. ;)

I added a light beside my license plate that shines straight back so i can turn on that switch and see better what's behind me with the push of a button. Just tapped into the bed light wire. Now i can blind people behind me, more light for backing up, or gut a deer anytime i like. Pretty handy eh ;)

But it does NOT keep lights on unless you keep a door open OR keep hitting the unlock button. So a switch to keep power on without doing those two things would be nice

i wonder if i'm missing information, are you saying without the vehicle running perhaps? be a bad idea for that to stay on without the vehicle running, too easy to forget and not see under a tonneau cover etc. dead battery waiting to happen

i've only been using mine with vehicle running and it stays on, doors open or not, if i push that button it's on, driving, parked, etc. but you don't want that one to stay on with a vehicle turned off, short term only with off ignition, it's a save the battery thing

Right unless running lights don’t stay on

Is that a Rubicon only thing? I don't think my sport S has that.
My Overland has the button for the bed lights. It's inside the dial for the headlights. The upper half is for the fog lights, the lower half is for the bed lights.

Huh, I guess there's is an additional roller switch there. If it could be repurposed to change the dashboard to different driving themes that would be cool in my book.

Yea. That roller switch is useless for me. The only noticeable thing I see it do is to change the light level at my feet.

I forgot to mention it and nobody seems to talk about it, but it also adjusts the NAV system appearance on the screen.

So, the upper first step dot is dome lights ON, the second is full luminosity dash, but when you are in the dimmer third section of the dial: the dash and screen are dimmed, the footwell light is ON, but the NAV map is on black background. Nice for night navigation...

LMAO, mine has it too, just figured it was like the 2nd dimmer and didn't do anything. gotta figure out how it works now, as i'm not in the bed when I press that button.

It officially controls the lights in the door handles for my Sport, that's all, nothing else.

I installed a rigid sr-m pro diffused flush mount led light in the flat blank space beside my license plate and powered it directly from the bed lights wire i tapped into up behind the box outer wall, easy to see from below, you sure notice those extra 2375 lumens when you open a door or unlock lol, love this upgrade, will really love it when i'm backing up to the next deer i need to gut and load up, also come in handy to blind anyone behind me if they need it ;)
OP - Can you post a picture of how the Rigid SR-M Pro Diffused light is mounted next to your license plate? I'm interested in doing this. How hard was the cutting of the metal plate behind the plastic bumper cover? Thanks
