Dominion Offroad makes the best muffler for the JKs. Sadly, too many folks are into the-kiddie-car-loud exhausts these days. And video clips don't help because there's no practical way for a viewer to accurately judge how loud each one really is, much less what it really sounds like when driving down the Interstate at 75 MPH. I like Brett's statement on the Dominion Offroad website,my last jku I did a flowmaster, it did mellow out and get deeper over some time... but by then I had added a resonator in line at an exhaust shop. That really took the drone/loudness down and gave me what I originally wanted.
Good luck!
"This Kit includes a Quiet 14" Muffler. This muffler is ... louder than stock. I've tested Magnaflow, Borla and Flowmaster Mufflers. To achieve the deepest and quietest tone possible, I had to have my own muffler manufactured. With the top off you'll not hear any 'drone' at highway speeds. When you 'Get in it', you hear the motor come to life."
That statement is accurate and helpful. Because, as you can see from the last few pages in this thread alone, buyer's reaction to their aftermarket exhaust note range from, "... now that it is considerably louder. I like it!" to "I hate it."
Since I drive a manual transmission Gladiator, it's really desirable to hear the engine/exhaust. But, even with the convertible top (which is all I have), the engine is too quiet to cue me when to shift. I hope that Brett makes a kit for the Gladiators, because the big manufacturers have demonstrated for years that they are more interested in selling loud and obnoxious.
