I was contemplating installing ARB lockers in my Sport S Max Tow, but instead I purchased a set of Rubicon axles to install from a shop that upgraded a Gladiator owner's axles. I would like to use the factory locker switch for these axles but I am having difficulty finding the correct part number. Of the part numbers I was able to find on the internet, I can't tell whether they have both the Off-Road+ button and sway bar disconnect button as they are Mopar generic part drawings. Does anyone know the correct part number for this switch as well as the harness that plugs into the back of the switch? I will order two of the the factory harnesses that attach to the axles (Part No. 77072413). Also, can I flash the computer to recognize this with my Taser Mini or does that have to be done at the dealership.

Thanks!

Interesting that you went with Rubicon takes offs instead. What did you pay per axle for the JTR ones if you can say?

Remember, you'll likely have to have the PCM flashed to make all the electrics work.

I was able to get the pair of Rubicon takeoffs with about 3,000 miles on them for $2,100. ARBs would have been $1,800 and I will have a set of Max Tow axles to sell when I’m done.

I agree, looks like a trip to the dealer will be in order.

Not sure if this is apples to apples, but when I looked into getting the Rubicon locker switch to operate ARB lockers in my overland, I was told by zAutomotive it couldn’t be done without a new drivetrain module and/or reprogramming. I’m not sure how adding stock Rubi axles might change that, so will be looking forward to hearing about progress on your build.

Thanks WK2JT, I have another switch setup I can use but I’d like to keep the factory look. Of course if that gets too involved or too costly I’ll use the other switch.

Curious if you asked what the added labor for gears at same time would be. I am planning ARB + 4.88 vs takeoff Rubis and still needing to do 4.88.

Gear swaps to 4.88s are about $1,500 here. That would be the time to swap in the ARBs and that is what I was going to do before finding these axles...good luck!

Yeah, same reason I wanted to use the Rubi switch. I think I'm going to use the Trigger Six Shooter switch bank once I pull the trigger (bad pun).

Just purchased a set of JT Rubicon axles also, 47 miles on them..lol.

Kickingaz, are you just running the Mopar 77072413 wires directly to the trigger switch? I am guessing it requires a constant 12v to keep the locker engaged? Then once 12v is removed the locker is disengaged?

I do have the Aux switch panel, was thinking of going directly to that? One switch for front, second for rear.

I also had the stock Rubicon Locker switch (pictured above) included in the deal, but I am thinking I don't want to go through all the re-programming of the ECU at the dealership, and just use my Tazer to change to the 4.10 gears vs stock Overland 3.73's

Is this what you're doing..ish?

I have not installed mine yet as I am going to put the Artec Truss armor on both axles and will likely install 4.88 or 5.13 gears first. When I don install them, I will use the two 77072413 harnesses and wire them to my switch or the factory switch (if I go that route). I believe you should be able to wire yours to the factory aux switches as my understanding is that each of those switches are programmable as on/off, pulse, or momentary. I believe you would want to use the on/off setting, but I don't know whether they would still be on if you shut the Gladiator off and then restarted it, for example if you stopped for lunch on a trail and then restarted the trail.

If you're not going to use the stock Rubicon Locker switch I would be willing to take it off your hands...let me know.

I'm buying rubicon axles to put on my sport s as well. I want to use the stock rubicon locker switch. Has anyone figured it out yet?
