Installed my PS rock armor. It’s tedious and exhausting. I have a couple of nutserts that spin freely on both sides, and whatever position I tried to install, I could t get it leveled.... I was trying to make it leveled with the “gladiator” decal.

going to mount my winch/bumper tomorrow.

You may find that the decals are level to the eye but not parallel with the lower rocker lines. I argued and argued with a body shop - and even other Eagle owners that the black on the two-tone cars was NOT level, NOT even - in short, the top edge of the black at the front fender was lower than the top of the black at the back. I finally proved it using a sting line and tape measure - then told them their DASH wasn't straight and the glove box wasn't even - oh, boy, more sparks until someone went out and measured - gee, that's right.
Well, it's like the Greeks did with buildings, a curve, a non-square line, but for the eye, it looks absolutely square and even.
I bet if you very carefully measure - the decal LOOKS perfect, but to the measure, it's not.
Study some Greek archetecture, there's a name for what they did - even the columns were different in some cases - not all identical - but they LOOK identical from certain viewpoints.
Could be wrong here in this case of the JT and the decals, but I've done enough car work to say - "your car's straight and perfect lines aren't."

Someone who is an artist here will surely explain it a hell of a lot better!

It looks like your rocker guards are sagging in the middle.

@jebiruph its pretty hard to make the thick aluminum sag. I see what you mean though. It’s the open bolt/camera angle that creates that sagging appearance. Gonna see what I can do with that in the coming weeks. My current main concern are some of the rivnuts are spinning and the bolts are sticking way out.

Running that myself. The foglight nuts are a pain, very little room to work. but i love mine
Awesome! That's good to know. I spent hours looking for one but I wasn't crazy about the ones that leave the tires totally exposed. Do you have any pics I'm getting anxious. I have a ton of stuff ordered but nothing's moving.:swear:

Received my 67 Designs Gladiator Rail System pack today, and my Paracable USB-C to USB-C 3 ft cable in Carbon (gray) that I will be using for my iPad Pro 11" once the 67 Designs 3D Printed iPad holder arrives. For the 67D Rail System, I got the matte finish carbon fiber arm and the universal phone holder.

I am still waiting on my Paracable order with 6 ft Lightning cables in Carbon (gray), so I will run one of those from the center console once that gets here and route it up through the HVAC control panel (like @-miko- did in his #8 post) where my phone sits.

Lots more photos in my build thread if you're interested. I show things taken apart and how I routed the cable for the iPad behind the dash.

My wife said the roof can't come off again until I get some sort of shade for it as she was tired of getting a sunburn every trip but enjoyed the top off otherwise. My scalp agreed (thinning hair).
So here's the JT prepped for spiderwebshade install.

It's actually a pretty simple install. The only "Trick" I found was keeping the front corner straps from getting into the windshield bolt boss area - so it wouldn't get pinched when putting the windshield back up and the bolts back in.
The red lines are where the front cords should go - the yellow is what must be avoided. So you connect the 4 front cords or straps first, leaving the rest hanging inside, and set the windshield back up - again making sure the outer cords haven't moved to the yellow marked area on each side. Keep those cords where the red lines are and all will be fine. The two that go in the middle area don't get close to the attachment point for the windshield.

You remove specific trim screws (T25) and install these "spools" under the screws. They furnish a bit that can be used with the Jeep ratchet, but I found a T25 screwdriver a lot faster.

It will be VERY interesting to see how simple it is to put the panels back on as the levers must be turned to lock them in - and one is more of a flip latch thing. How to get to those? Will see later, I guess.

I have a Spiderwebshade on with a hard top as well. The freedom panels are a bit more tedious to install, but the shade stretches enough to make it “not so bad”. Fair trade seeing that the shade keeps the sun from making a nice drive unbearable.

Thanks, good to know I won't face a task that makes me regret installing this.
We drove it to church and back this evening. (30+ minutes each way) Left home at 5 so there was still plenty of sun - you are in the sun but it's not really full sun so didn't feel intense like it did without it. It did well, didn't whip around only some minor "vibrating" at the very back, the rest was pretty still for the most part. Granted, these are rural highways with the fastest limit being 65 but it gave a good idea of how it will behave.
She complained the wind messed up her hair (dang Jeeps anyway, that's a defect, right?) but was fine with the sun so the shade was a good thing to get.

I don’t drive on the highway either, so I’m happy with mine during my 50-55mph drives. The only gripe I can come up with is there is some wind noise when the rear top is on and freedom panels off. Wind can’t come in the cab so it skates off of the shade into the hard top and makes an annoying racket. However, when I open the rear window port 90% of that noise goes away. Again, small trade off for a shady comfortable ride!

Painted my rusting hubs/bolts, and my wonderful wife helped me torque my beadlocks while the wheels were off.

That looks awesome!! I am in love with the tires...how much lift are you running now? I know you started off with the 4.5 SJ but I haven't kept up with all of your suspension mods.

Finally got my lift and tires on so she's sitting pretty!!!

Installed OEM Rubicon takeoff suspension
Installed Ready Lift 2.5 SST leveling kit
1.5" wheel spacers
315.70.17 KO2's on the factory wheels

I can't believe how comfortable the ride is! It's actually better after the lift than the stock ride! I love this thing!

Damaged the POS plastic bumper and couldn't imagine spending a penny to fix it so I found a Craigslist steel rubicon take off, brand new, and swapped it out. With the brackets for the fog light swap, skid plate and top insert, all in $700. I like it...
