Exact same thing happened to me - steering gear came in today but bolts won't be here until next week. They said they got the gear and found the bolts were not with it.
"The depot" is basically a warehouse, parts depot, a distribution point.
I saw it had happened to you, sorry you’re on the hurry up and wait too!
It was almost amusing before he even got the whole sentence out I knew where he was headed from comments in the forum lol!
I’m just afraid they’ll make him wait to order the Bolt set (the 1 week period) or push me behind the other JTs!! If it’s here early next week I’m ok, that’s just working out the kinks for the new fix BUT I doN’t want to be weeks out from feeling safe in my truck ;) I’m hoping JeepCares speaks up and tells me if they can help him get the parts to avoid the long wait. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like you’re next in line for the TSB. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Others on here have mentioned their service department never had the bolts either. Seems like a common miss during ordering. That said, there are others who got it right the first time. I don’t think it’s something that needs to be escalated to Jeep Cares compared to some things others have mentioned about their service departments. Either way...you’ll be really happy when you do get this fix!
Yes, thanks for that insight. I certainly don’t need an “escalation” like I mentioned the service has been good just concerned about waiting a week or more for the bolts hopefully wherever they order from realizes it’s just the bolts to go with the already ordered steering gear and not an entirely new order that requires a weeklong wait.

I‘m really looking forward to the “fix” so far everything I’ve read on here has been super positive!!

I know there's a lot of back and forth here... But just as a breath of fresh air jump to 2:40 and 4:04

(2mins 40 seconds in, and 4 minutes 4 seconds in and listen for 10-15 seconds)

Dropped my 2020 Gladiator off last Sunday evening at Bob Moore CDRJ here in Tulsa, OK due to steering play and pulling slightly to right. Requested they preform the TSB and it was completed by Thursday: no hassle or push back.

I picked it up today and told the service department about other dealerships not wanting to complete the TSB based this forum thread. I told the lady I would give them a shout on the Gladiator forum and she said, “Please do and we will take care them.”

As for the steer box and software update, just like everyone else has said, the steering is now tight and doesn’t pull any more.

Good share. I think the best advertising is word of mouth. Same with the dealership I had mine done at. They said feel free to let those on the forums know that they’ll do the TSB there as well. Only stipulation is as others have said, that they are limited to once per week ordering of the parts.

Will the old bolts work with the new steering gear or will we all now need to check to make sure the dealership used the proper bolts?

Got my Jeep back yesterday from the dealer after the fix. Wow just wow. I've only been able to drive it about 20 miles but half of that was on the interstate going 75mph and it. was a huge improvement. It was a very windy day yesterday and it was noticeable how much easier it was to drive at 75mph with a cross wind. I can't wait to go on a longer trip now to really see the difference.

In my case they said it as if they thought the depot had all parts, when all they really had was the steering gear - and the bolts were coming later. It's not something that's end of the world or needs to be escalated as you said.
It's simply that they misunderstood.
They contacted whoever they contact and found the bolts were coming from elsewhere after they found they only had the gear.
And I had to face it - SHOCK SHOCK SHOCK, really, next day for the gear???? No, can't be - they are in demand - I bet I have to wait a week just for that. Nope, gear - next day.
And bolts being only 3 working days out? Not bad at all, in the grand scheme of things these days (pandemic)

It took longer to get my tonneau cover! That was a week to get. And NO PANDEMIC at that time.

So my waiting from the Thursday they said the stuff was ordered until the following Tuesday is nuttin' - especially when some say it's taking a week, 2 weeks, even 3 weeks.
These don't come as kits - so parts have to be pulled together and sent as the depot has them is how I UNDERSTAND it.
And it's nothing compared to waiting TWO WEEKS just to get a Grand Cherokee even LOOKED AT.
This is pandemic time - not normal "I got it overnight" time. All places are slowed down, under-staffed, reduced hours so they can do their cleaning and prepping for next business day.

No. The new steering gear uses larger bolts. And IMO that's a good thing.

For those on the fence: I'm getting a clayton lift installed next week, I mentioned to my wife about the TSB on the steering. She was like, take it in before I get the lift on. It wanders. I was of the opinion that the falcon stabilizer I had put on shortly after getting the JT was good enough.

I picked it up yesterday late afternoon from Gator Jeep in MLB. They replaced the box and SW, aligned and centered steering wheel. I'm like wow, this thing drives amazingly now. HUGE difference.

I did not expect much of a change on the street, but driving home it was vast improvement. We are off to Orlando and will get some highway miles in this afternoon. Looking forward to that.

I was not that concerned - it was my wife who said "man, this thing really wanders" last trip she drove it, and the first time "I hope there aren't any cops back there, they'll think I'm drunk" - man, that comment shocked me! She's a rock-solid, steady, safe driver. She aims it and it goes where she wants when she drives - except in the Gladiator. Hmmmmm.
So next time I think there may be something - but am not sure - she gets to drive it and tell ME! And here that used to be my job as a tech for years.

Well now I’m on hold
They have the steering gear/box BUT NO NEW NUTS AND BOLTS!!
The Service rep told me they didn’t realize the bolts wouldn’t come with the steering gear since it needed new bolts as prescribed by TSB so he’s called a bunch of dealers (don’t know what good that will do no one else has them) and “the Depot” (don’t know what that means) and is hoping to have the part by Monday/Tuesday so I’m in a loaner Compass (man is it tiny!!) until Monday.
Anyone know if this is something I contact @JeepCares about?
@JeepCares can you assist my dealership in getting the bolts? As of right now the dealership is being fantastic but he said they have 4 other Gladiators in for the TSB and can only order parts 1x a week...I don’t want to be pushed back 4 weeks!!
I sure would like my truck back, need it too and I was looking forward to it being fixed I was so excited and now it’s hurry up and wait!
If it makes you feel any better I was in a Renegade for 4 days lol, a Latitude. It did have only 4200mi and it steered well, which was kind of nice again.

According to TSB and Service tech needs to be the new steel bolts.
