Rockhard 4x4 and Quadratec order...Similar experiences?

I am not sure if this is the best section for the post but Rock Hard 4x4 is not a vendor so I didn't put it in that area.

Is anyone experiencing vague and continuously slow shipping from Rock Hard 4x4? I ordered the Rock Hard 4X4 Patriot Series Tube Slider Rocker Guard Angled Up on 19 September. I went through Quadratec and not directly to Rock Hard's site. Since Quadratec is the middle man I understand they have to reach out to Rock Hard and so there is a process. Originally, I was told 3-4 weeks to ship which is not to be unexpected. Last week I was told by the end of the week. This week I was told by the end of the week. The end of this week will be 6 weeks to ship (if they actually hold up to their word this time). The third times the charm, right?

This is my first purchase from Rock Hard. Is this normal for them to keep changing their minds and not ship when they say? Quadratrec has been great with their responses and no issues with them.

Quadratec has a LONG history of poor customer service and late orders.

I ordered a bumper directly with Rock Hard and before I did I asked what the turn-around time would be. They told me via e-mail that it would be 15-20 business days. It has been 6 days thus far. I certainly anticipate that they will meet or exceed their estimate.

I have orderEd stuff from them before and find that their customer service is very good and very responsive.

I've ordered a couple of things directly from Rock Hard and they shipped quickly, no problems. As others mentioned, their customer service is excellent and very responsive. You have to bite the bullet on shipping cost when you order large items directly from them, as opposed to ordering through a retailer, but overall the difference in cost is not huge. And if you want it on time... They do have a "local pickup" option that significantly reduces shipping cost if you're willing to go to the FEDEX distro center to pick it up yourself. Otherwise it comes freight to your door.

As they say, you get what you pay for, even with shipping.

Quadratec doesn't stock most of their RH parts so you're sort of at the mercy of a third party. You'll get a few days extra delay over RH's normal ship times so expect a couple weeks at a minimum. I was told the sliders in particular are generally a hot item and 4-6 weeks was a normal lead time.

I used Quadratec primarily for my TJ and I've honestly never had an issue with them.

I ordered my angled down RH sliders from Northridge. They were more $$ but shipped that day and had them via truck freight in a week.

So it seems like this is a get what you pay for, as mentioned above. I got a discount and free shipping so now I am at the mercy of whenever it comes it comes.

Correct! Lately its hit or miss depending on the item. If something is selling well at the MFG then they are slow to respond to Quadratec at a discounted price. Had that with the JT hard cover. Backordered at Q. After a few weeks I went to the MFG site and ordered and it shipped the same day. Cancelled the Q order. The stuff they have that's made in China is in stock and ships almost immediately. Call RH and if the sliders are in stock then buy them and cancel your Q order.

I never did get Quadratec to cancel the order they took for a Curt brake controller they didn't have in stock. I was using the one I bought from Home Depot for almost a month before the Qudratec order showed up. Had to UPS it back to them on my time and my dime because they don't answer the damned phone or their email. Eff them!

Northridge is doing a good job for me across several orders for Metalcloak and Rock Hard products, I'll continue to use their site.
