Hi fellow jeep lovers, I recently brought my first real jeep, a JT overland optioned for comfort.

I am looking to upgrade just the tires and keep the stock wheels, I dont want to do a lift kit or add spacers yet.

My wants are better comfort (ride quality), rain/cold weather performance.

I dont mind road noise, sorry I know its a lot of requirements, any pictures with a setup like this would be super helpful.

Thank you all

There are many solid tires that should fit the bill for you as AZJT mentioned depending on what size you are looking for.

If we can be of assistance please let us know.

Hi- I'm ready to pull the trigger soon & have been researching. I'm looking at the Overland or 80AE. I like the 18" wheel. Almost 100% on the Nitto Ridge Grappler 37 x 11.50 r18.

My '17 JKU Sport S is on the stock rim with BFG KO2 34.5 x 10.5 r17. I like the pizza cutting look & performance. The thinner tire performs well on road & I like to think it's helping with the MPG.

Can't wait to see what you go with.

Hi fellow jeep lovers...
I went with Falken Wildpeak 285/75R18 tires on the stock Overland wheels, 2 inch Iron Rock steel spacers (front and rear), and DT8000 shocks. Found another Overland wheel on ebay and put a full size spare in the storage well too. The Falken tires will fit without a lift and without rub if you don't push the travel of the wheel on/off road.

Does the DT8000 shocks make a difference in ride comfort ?

If you install the Iron Rock lift kit you can retain your factory shocks. I chose the kit with the DT8000 shocks and I think they perform very well on and off road. Ride comfort is slightly more bouncy, but I attribute that more to the e rated tires than the shocks. To me it’s worth it.

Assuming you want to step up to a LT rated tire from your current set up (guessing based on the road noise comment) I can think of a few that work really really well for what you want. I've found Coopers AT and General A/TX hold up really well, good year duratrac is a great AT tire too for muck...although they wear out a little faster. All of those do really well in the snow/cold, especially the Duratrac. This will draw a lot of posts in flame to be sure, but I'll never buy a BFG KO2 again. They just dont hold up.

Another one to consider is the Michelin LTX A/T2. You'll get teased at jeep meetings for "having a car tire" on your jeep, but I'll be hot damned if they dont get you absolutely everywhere you need an AT tire to go. Shocking performance based on their looks.

I went with 285 75 18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. I have Rubicon shocks and springs. I plan on adding a 1.5 inch leveling kit.

I’ll be going with Toyo AT IIIs in 255/80/17. They are aggressive. About 33” high. And 1/2” wider.

I'm looking at the Duratrac Wranglers as well. How's the road noise on these? Overall would you recommend them?
