Haters gonna hate lol. I get lots of compliments on my truck with the "awful" steelies but I personally think they look good on this truck because they go with the unpainted fenders and black top and trim. I like the no nonsense utilitarian look of it. I realize opinions will vary.I realize many, if not most, of the people here will upgrade their wheels. I'm sure FCA realizes that too. But why are the Sport wheels the most boring ugly wheels known to civilized man, and the Overland wheels the the most Honda Accord looking truck wheel/tire combo I've ever seen? Rubicon's are ok, actually stylish and easy to work around for just doing a tire swap. But the god awful Sport and Overland choices make it so hard to look at a stock JT. Am I alone?
I'm with you. I wish I could have swapped out the Sport S wheels for the Sport steelies when I ordered.Haters gonna hate lol. I like the Overland wheels. The Overland wheel/tire combo bring to mind station wagons from the '70's.
For those ordering a Sport S, black aluminum wheels (maybe the Willy ones?) are an option for less than $200. Though I have never seen them and not an option on the Jeep website, Leon from Criswell confirmed it is definitely an option and I plan on ordering this way in a few weeks and throwing Kenda Klever RT tires on.I'm with you. Ha ha, I think FCA intentionally does that to 'nudge' you to upgrade - definitely a factor in my Altitude decisionI realize many, if not most, of the people here will upgrade their wheels. Me too.I like the Overland wheels.
I'm contemplating to make a move to the 18" Overland wheel and a 10 ply/load range E tire on my Mojave. Did you have any rubbing or scrub with the 295/70/18"s? Also, What's the ride like with the Load range E tire?I totally agree the stock tires H/T tires on the sports and overland have to go... If I got the sport the plan was to get the wheels powdercoated black. The style does remind me of a classic wrangler and I'm sure that was Jeep's intention. I really like the overland style wheels but again I had to get rid of those tires and go with an A/T. Here's my overland wheel with a 295/70R18 Bridgestone Dueller Revo 3 mounted. After a lot of research this offered the best balance (IMHO) of looks, on/off road handling and snow traction (and weight, price).
