I wouldn’t want 37s on my daily driver. Between the 2, is rather have the skid plates.

But the skid plates are also WAY cheaper. There should still be budget left over for other stuff like a winch and recovery gear.

The only skids I feel are mandatory for moderate wheeling are the frame-side skids for the rear lower control arm brackets. All of the other factory skids on the JT are fairly sufficient. The shock and lower control arm axle brackets have proven to be pretty strong as well. For these reasons, I would go with other mods first

Further clarification. I have a winch. Lights. And rock sliders lots of recovery gear.

There are a few thin sheets of metal that cover a few important bits but most of the underside is completely exposed even on a Rubicon. With this long ass wheelbase, it's good to protect the expensive bits and things that will leave you stranded.

Full length also isn't full coverage nose to tail. All will cover engine oil pan back to the transfer case and the fuel tank but some stop there like my Metalcloak belly pan while others might include a muffler skid like Rock Hard.

I did 37” tires 20” wheels with a JKS venture 3” lift & 5.10 re-gear.
