You guys saying no to LED bulbs, is this based on first hand knowledge in a JT or just repeating what you have read somewhere?
The new LED bulbs are quite a bit different than the LED bulbs from a few years ago, they make a noticeable improvement and don't scatter the light or blind oncoming traffic, the cutoff is just as clean and at the same point as the bulbs they replace.
I’m speaking on first hand experience. I have a set of Oracle’s led replacement bulbs and the expensive ones. Yeah the cutoff is great when your parked up against your garage door. But open road driving the light scatters terribly. There is a cut off line but the light is scattered. I was desperate for some light upgrade and had a $200 credit with oracle who make great products. I’m swapping my halogens back in this weekend. Hell when my lights are on when I walk up to it blinds me. Then the high beams are a joke you can’t even flash oncoming traffic.

I try to explain this but people are hell bent on believing they work. They don’t. Halogen light emits much differently which require many reflection points to aim the light. LED’s use projectors. If leds worked in halogen housings manufactures would put them in every car so they appeared to be better.Built led lamps are pricey due to the technology that’s needed to emit light properly. They don’t work simple as that. It’s a 40k plus vehicles shell out $600 and get some proper lighting.

That is good feedback on the Oracle bulbs, seeing as @ORACLElights is a forum sponsor it would be interesting to hear their explanation on your review of their bulbs.

they make great products I’ve used their stuff on many vehicles. These lights just don’t work. I will be buying their full headlight assembly in the future though

I used
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CMN3NL2/

And have been very pleased with the results.
I've driven ~3,000 miles with them, mostly after dark, and not been flashed once. The cutoff is nearly identical to the halogens, but the low beam in-fill is much better. The high beams shine well down the highway, and allow me to easily see possible obstacles (DEER!)

I personally think that too many people simply buy a cheap bulb, and stick it in the housing, without any consideration as to the bulb's characteristics. I made sure to get a lamp that places the emitter (LED) in the SAME location and the SAME configuration as the halogen bulb's filament. I see a LOT of supposed H13, "Replacements," with all sorts of LED layouts and positions, and they simply won't work properly in a halogen housing.

Be careful what you buy.

And Amazon's fitment guide is JUST a guide: it is not 100% accurate!

There is NOTHING wrong with just bulb replacements to LED.... BUT. Some styles are better than most. Before used to be cree xhp50, now they're leaning more towards philips zes chips. I've tried both in various vehicles and have personally prefered xhp50. Again. Not all are good in both ranges/styles. Beat think to do is go to Headlight revolution on youtube and check some of their vids. One specifically goes over different styles and their outputs. This is how I learned. They even have one for jl/jt. Their bulbs are brand name/expensive. Find the style that intrigues you and find the mimic on amazon for $50-80/pair.

The problem isn't so much the bulbs, but most who install. Issue = reaiming headlights after install. Fix = 1. park on flat ground before install, facing a wall about 20-30 ft away 2. Measure cutoff hight 3. After install, repeat first two 4. Adjust to match same height. If you don't have a clear cutoff. 1. Bulbs suck, get different ones or 2. Installed incorrectly (diodes point to 3 and 9 o'clock).

I personally spent a lil extra and added style by getting aftermarket projector housings. These are the best IMHO. Under $450/pair, and u won't need a light bar when highs are on. I've LED all around, and it was cheaper than optioning.

Also, some of the blinding is from HID in reflectors, THATS A NO NO! HID fill the housing, LED leave a cat/snake eye effect.

I have these bulbs. They are most certainly an improvement. I did do some adjusting. I haven't gotten flashed from oncoming cars complaining they are too bright. I believe the adjustment was key. I had to drop them down pretty significantly. I also put these in the fog lights.

Uh oh... I’m awaiting the LED bulb kit to be delivered on Monday. I guess I should have waited and got the Bi-LED units... well, we‘ll see how it goes on Monday.

Thanks for this info... if things are similar for me, I’ll know I’m not imagining things.

@ORACLElights offers the LED bulbs and entire headlight housings. If you are looking for just led bulbs I would suggest our 4000 lumens as they provide the highest light output in lumens, however you do need to ensure you are adjusting them prior to installing. You will want the leds to face horizontal to ensure the correct light output and prevent "scatter"

You can view more in our led bulb comparison video here:

Following up on my last post... I had to adjust the Oracle 4000s... initial install had the LEDs at a 45° orientation. I took a look at a video that said the LEDs should face up and down... well, that’s what I THOUGHT it said...i misunderstood. The LEDs should face left and right... once opi made that adjustment (and it was SIMPLE) I’m VERY happy with my purchase.

Crisp cutoff line, no scattered pattern and nice and bright!

Awesome I’m sure I’ll be laid off due to Covid soon so I’ll have some down time I’ll play around with them. Used your products for years I may have just misread the horizontal part. Stoked to get them right.

I have been using Supernova V4 headlight and foglight bulbs for a year now with zero complaints/regrets.

I've personally compared them with our Cherokee Trailhawk and JL Wrangler equipped with MOPAR LED package and I don't see a difference. The Supernova V4 has excellent cutoff and the light does not scatter like other members have mentioned LED bulbs tend to do. My personal experience.

Don’t bother just buying the bulb. Led bulbs do not work in halogen housings I repeat do not work! People can’t rant and rave about them but everyone and their brother will hit their highs at you. The led lights causes a blinding glare.

I myself have an expensive set of Oracle led bulbs would never do it again. They may seem brighter the actual usable light is small and the spread is bad. Save up buy all new headlights. Currently saving to do that next even though I want a bumper and winch. It’s winter and seeing in this dark is more important
I couldn't disagree more. I have the Amazon bulbs, and they work brilliantly. (get it?) The spread pattern is an improvement over the stock halogen in every respect, and does not spill above the cutoff. My 2017 JKUR had the LED headlights factory, and while those were better, it isn't worth the price difference for me. Replacement bulbs have come a long way since the blue replacement bulbs at Autozone.
