Too long for off roading and too short bed for hauling...
Sounds like the description of pretty much EVERY full-size 4X4 truck (too long) and EVERY short-bed truck on the market...

Motor Trend was the National Enquirer of car magazines back when they arrived in the mail. Some things never change.

In their "Truck of The Year" edition, the 2021 Gladiator was a finalist (Mojave, EcoDiesel) and they ripped it apart for it's towing characteristics, even going as far as to call it "scary" and recommending that FCA address it, ultimately concluding that the Gladiator had "reduced ability to do truck stuff". Ten pages later, they did a story on "Fashionable Glamping" centering around an Airstream Flying Cloud weighing ~5200Lbs. The cover picture for the article showed the Airstream motoring down the hwy towed by, you guessed it, a GLADIATOR! SMH on that one.

What I think is funny about complaining about length is that this is the exact size of vehicle the Aussies end up with when they do a frame stretch on the Land Cruiser to make it a better tourer. It may not rule the rocks but there isn't a truck out there that can really keep up with minimal investment. There's nothing I'd rather have (that we can get in the US) to explore.

I've always preferred C&D for actual reviews and Automobile for their photos. MT was not even in my list. I'd actually go to R&T for their quick articles before MT.

But yeah... whatever. They don't like the JT but the real customers don't agree by the sales numbers beating the Tacoma, Ranger, and Colorado within a year of release.

Besides, you never hear about those other trucks having a community like us or having the lifestyle that comes with being a Jeep owner.

@SuburbanGP88 This is a great truck, but there is zero hope of it ever dethroning the Tacoma in sales. I'm not even sure it'll come close to the Colorado.
Give it time. It's new and only had really less than a full year so far, discounting the first year fervor and 2020 wreaking havoc on car sales.

" Those mutts wouldnt know the difference between a celery stalk and a butt plug. "

I heard that they were interchangeable.
