Tekton's Amazon ratings are through the roof!
Because it's quality shit. Even the stuff that isn't US made is top notch and that's coming from someone with a box full of Snap-On and Mac. Tekton rounds out most of my trail kit and I've had zero issues with any of it.

China doesn't mean bad quality, bad standards and bad QC means bad quality and it's just too often you find that out of China. Tekton is not one of those companies.

Only if the weights have been verified as accurate as well. I was in the product certification business for 32 years. I was a huge pain in the ass to a lot of people, and I was very good at it.
And also only if the wrench is perfectly parallel and the fastener perfectly perpendicular the floor which... yeah... good luck.

What are you packing in your kit that they’ve made? I carry a 20 year old box set of Sears sockets, ratchet, and a matched breaker bar. Those old Sears tools have been with me for almost half my life!

Old sears tools are hard to come by these days. I got a ton of them handed down to me over the years, some 30 some or more years old, back when each tool was made on different levels. Nowadays it's pretty much buying the name that drives the price up. Be it Harbor freight, kolbalt, craftsman, tools that fall into this category are pretty much all made with about the same quality and offer lifetime warranties because most do that now. Just saying a good bit of Kolbalt tools are made in china now and I wouldn't be surprised if craftsman tools aren't made there either. Doesn't make them bad. I'm a fan of Harbor Freight. Hate me if you want but I've got some tools from there I e had for years as well and honestly I've bought some that were crap, but I've also bought Kolbalt and lately craftsman stuff that was crap as well.

Mostly core stuff like wrenches, sockets, ratchets, and pliers. I was going to buy their screwdrivers too but Wera has a muilt-bit set that is outstanding and super compact. I also have a Tekton 1/2" Torque wrench which has seen some use and checked out on calibration after a few years spending its downtime under the seat of my truck.

My Snap-On doesn't make me money anymore so I'm not about to replace $3k in tools if my bag disappears out of my truck. They are still my favorite tools but Tekton is 90% there and if it gets stolen, it's not going to kill me.

I would say they're at least as good as the classic Craftsman/SK/Crescent stuff my dad and grandpa have and I can say I've abused the hell out of them without anything breaking yet... like 3' pipe on a 3/8" ratchet level of abuse.

Don't auto parts stores lend out tools? If you need one just for your lift install, I would make some calls

Good luck with your new wrench! I got a crafstman non digital like 8 years ago. Its been super reliable to me, but I have no idea how accurate it truly is!
Get it calibrated or checked. They all should be calibrated now and then as they can lose accuracy with time and use.

Mine is a Proto made in US; 25 yo and still great working condition. It is the spring loaded handle wind version. Last calibrated 5 years ago.

I have a proto 1/2" drive click type I picked up at a swap meet 20 years ago and a NAPA that my former boss had and gave to me several years ago. It's time to get both checked out.
I've also got a 3/8" drive click type I bought for automatic transmission work (inch/pound)
Then I have 3 beam types, one was part of a transmission tool set from the 60s.
Then there's the adapters to reach the band adjustments, and instructions on how to multiply the reading.

Nice old gear!
My favourite wrenches are S&K - also US made. They are imo a happy marriage between Mac and Snap-on.

I have some S&K as well. I bought tools from the local parts stores when I was a teen and had my small engine repair shop. I believe I have some S&K branded specialty tools from back then.

I bought a Kobalt.
Its been really good. It’s a clicker, 1/2” drive. It’s installed 4 lift kits and countless other things.

big thing with a torque wrench, back it all the way to its lowest setting when storing.
