Are we also factoring in the cost to replace the halogen tail light housing with the LED tail light housing?

To get LEDs on your sport requires the safety package then to to get to get headlights requires advanced safety then it’s still $1000 extra and then you’re still using the ugly turn signals. There’s a couple LEDs on the way aftermarket now and one already

On a Sport S, there's no need to add the advanced safety group to have the LED package, just the active safety group.

Anyone considered just a bulb swap?

Got a ReGear coming soon. Went with the least expensive option for now.

I have 145.00 EBAY Led black housing headlight/fog light combo and it is 1,000x better than oem, look Great and don't cost 1,000 bucks. Had them on the truck almost a year now, no issues. Oem fog vs aftermarket

If you go back to the beginning of the thread, there were many posts both pro and con on bulb swap.

I feel like maybe I should chime in here. I have a 2019 JLU Rubicon and a 2020 JL sport soft top. The Rubicon has LED lights. Twice, water found its way into the right rear. The light contains sensors for lane assist and parking assist. Replacement cost each time was over $1000. Fortunately it was covered by warranty but, frankly, I’m a little nervous for when the warranty runs out. My JL with standard lights certainly are not as bright but they are adequate, and when one of them fails outside of the warranty, It won’t require a family discussion to come up with a budget for replacement.

The non led tail lights may be adequate but the halogen headlights certainly are not. I’ve swapped over my front end to LEDs. Not in a rush to do the back but the front is a legit safety issue.

Hello, I'm new to the jeep community, haven't even ordered yet. I was curious what you all thought about the LED upgrade for like $1000???

Thanks Mike
Definitely buy the LED package ,proximity key and limited-slip. I tried to upgrade my Jku to hid headlights and it was a disaster. Jeep knows that the factory lights suck. But they can get us to pay $1,000 for safe lights.

I really wanted the Proximity key, etc but it just wasn't in the cards at the time. I been running the LED bulb replacement for a year now on all my lights and gotta say for $100 I am happy as pie. I do need to change out my fog lights but am going to do that when I put on the Arcus Bumper.

We even TOLD the sales guy we wanted the proximity locks. My wife's Grand Cherokees had them the last two times and when he went down the lift and mentioned them we both said YES. Twice it was mentioned. In the end he never got that box checked - so I added them myself. Glad I did. The dealer supposedly even got it added to my VIN so any flashes will put it right back.

I know that winter is a pain with this style Jeep headlight (recessed like a bucket, waiting to catch snow and ice) but I still like them - a lot.
