We replaced the painted top on my Rubicon like four months ago and still have leaks. The dealership ordered new glass as its the only thing that hasn't been replaced but now were waiting on a steering box so we can address everything at once. Jeep Wave Case Manager has been active in checking in but cant seem to get anything done. I was told to expect a call today at 3pm from a supervisor after trying to push to get this wrapped up and they couldn't even afford me the decency to do that after Ive worked all night and stayed up to make sure I was available for the call. I called them and whoever the supervisor I got is arguably the rudest and most unhelpful human Ive death with in regards to warranty and new vehicles. I cant help but feel this was a 64k dollar mistake that Im now stuck with. The supervisors parting words to me were basically, "its a Jeep, of course its going to leak."

Was the painted top replaced as a solution to fix the original window leak? If so, was the top ordered and arrived painted or did they take from another Gladiator on the lot? Thanks in advance.

I experienced similar attitude when the the fender liners came off my gladiator on the Highway and were scrapping against the tire. (My Jeep is a 2020 gladiator rubicon factory without any modifications) dealer kept insisting I hit something and blamed me for any off-roading.... He basically said it was my fault for taking a Jeep on a dirt road...? Who hired these people

Thats what the dealer suggested was the issue even after I guided him to this thread. I assumed he's the guy fixing it, he knows what he's doing. Tops don't come painted so it has to be painted and if your dealer doesn't have a Jeep associated body shop, it requires approval from Jeep that they'll pay for it through a subcontractor. My closest dealer with a bodyshop is a few hours away so we went with plan B. We now have a subpar paint job(fisheyes, adhesive that wasn't properly removed then painted over) and still a leaky rear window. I don't blame the dealer, he's only doing what he can but it seems no one wants to accept responsibility. Pair that with the ball getting dropped somewhere on the steering TSB an the undeniable fact that whomever the manager was in the Jeep Wave room I talked to today and his abysmal attitude towards wanting some answers and Im fed up.

Thanks for the reply. My dealer indicated the same process for painted top replacements.....ship unpainted (without glass) painting locally. I refused this option knowing that a local body shop would make a mess of trying to match color and metallic-ness of billet silver. And I've been concerned glass replacement by a local glass company will wreck my current top (see examples on this site) forcing a body shop to repair and match paint. The local glass company indicated the window would need to be removed with a reciprocating saw of sorts. No win situation here or so it seems.

2020 Gladiator Rubicon here in Nj. I have the same issue. When contacting the dealer, I was told that it was probably from going through a car wash. We had major snow and sleet-rain the last few days and the water came in constantly. Same as most other post. Starts above back slider then travels the length of the back window, down to the sub bass, back seats. Called dealer Pelegrino in Woodbury NJ, was told they never even heard of this problem. It give me a great sense of confidence to be told that they were not even aware of this issue. Its unacceptable to purchase a $61,000.00 vehicle and something as simple as a leaky window is an issue. I must keep it garaged I’m wet weather until a permanent fix is in place. Any help would be appreciated

I will let you in on a little secret about dealership service advisor training, every possible warranty problem you call in about is the "FiRst tImE wE hAvE SeEn iT" response.

Call in and say you are out of warranty and cash paying customer, they know how to get straight to the problem for you.

Rained yesterday and here are the results.

Took it to the dealer today for the leak specialist to look at it. The service specialist told me someone else came in with same problem and showed me a picture of the inside top of the window with the trim pieces removed and you could see the seal was damaged. They are going to look at mine and if it looks the same, they are suggesting replacing the seal and window.

My appointment went well. They removed some of the inner trim pieces around the rear window, applied water from the outside and took pictures of it leaking in several locations along the seal. They will submit their findings to Mopar (I think that's what he said) and wait for a response/approval to fix. They ordered a window, but it's on backorder. The dealership and Jimmy treated me well. He gave me a Grand Cherokee as a loaner and called as soon as the inspection was over. Now we wait for approval and the window to come in.

Dealer ordered my new window in November. Latest update from JeepCares is that the glass is expected on April 1st. After the steering box and window leak I’m starting to think that trading in the F150 was a mistake. This website and its members have been the only saving grace. At least I found a name for the Gladiator, “The U-Boat.”

That's a long time to wait, guess I'll get in line too. I did stop by Lowes and get some weather stripping. Install took about :30 and hopefully it'll keep the water out.

I apologize in advance for the winded explanation so please bear with me. I'm new to the forum and just took delivery of my 2020 Gladiator. Guess what, 350 miles on the truck, first rain on sunday and the back window leaks as well. Same as the other 18 pages of complaints. My wife talked me into a jeep as she has a Wrangler unlimited. I've owned European cars for the last 20 years and sadly, my first experience with a domestic dealer was lacking. I brought it in (after only 3 days of ownership) and explained it to the service tech. Showed him a few pictures and he looked at me like this was the first time he has ever heard of this issue. He said I needed to make an appt so they could look into it. I calmly walked around the corner of the shop to see 3 cars up on lifts and 3 guys standing around talking. I worked for both Audi and Porsche in the past so I'm not new to the dealership game. I walked back over and asked if there was a reason we couldn't just get a hose out and sprinkle a little magic water on the back so he could witness the Sh*^ window seal on my brand new $40k+ Jeep........His response was a mere chuckle and basically told me I had to schedule an appt.

Long story short, so far, unimpressed. If they had cars lined up out the back for service, I totally understand but reality was they don't. Audi would have tossed me a set of loaner keys and said we will call you when it's fixed, no questions asked, New or Used. The truck goes in today to get the Tonneau cover and bed liner put in so we will see what they have to say. I'll keep you all posted and will try my best to stay positive because I absolutely love my Jeep!!

Thanks for listening.

Update on my particular situation.

Dealer finally received my replacement rear window, it had shattered in transit. Just my luck.

Waiting continues, and we have rain and thunderstorms forecasted for the next 4 or 5 days.

So crazy how the waits and experiences have varied. Mine was ordered in mid November, and came in just before Christmas.
