Not sure if this is what you were getting at but the MSRP contains the destination fee (currently $1995).

Yep, was talking to our SoCal below invoice dealer yesterday to see if there was any way to get the $3K incentive on an order, since it has an expiration date, or if I needed to just come down to the lot a try to find close to what I want.
He said I need to order because they have to sell on hand inventory over MSRP due to supply shortage. I don’t know if that guidance comes from FCA or who but I am also seeing the same thing at other SoCal dealers.
I’m even seeing used 2020 Gladiators on the lots with as many as 18,000 miles on them listed for $3-4K over the MSRP that they had when new. It’s CRAZY!

Guess I’ll be waiting for the 22MY to place an order. Will miss out on this incentive but it was going to save me a flight to Gupton and the drive back to Cali.
What is 22MY?

I almost bought a Gladiator today. Found nearly the exact Willys build I've been looking for a 7 hour drive away. Price seemed too good to be true and was. But it wasn't the typical pricing where you realize unless you are a handicapped military veteran who just graduated college and are a part-time firefighter you don't qualify. This one was a trick in the destination fee. It's in the MSRP, but the dealership pulled it out and then added it back at the end when I asked for hard numbers. It also mysteriously went up $1000 when quoted from their advertised price.

The price is still very fair, I just don't care for the business practice of advertising a discounted price and then padding it on the backside. To be perfectly honest, if this was on a lot in my town I'd have bought it anyway but it was enough of a difference to not take a 14 hour road trip plus time at the dealership.
Dealers do this in metro/large market areas all the time to try and capture non local business. They attract customers with a discount no dealer can match by taking out the destination then in the fine print they add a disclaimer price does not include tax tags and destination. Unfortunately customers tend to not read disclaimers online. Working for a dealership myself I am always telling customers to try to buy from your local dealer first. Dealers all own the vehicles for the same price if the deal you think your getting is too good to be true it probably is.

I'm purchasing a new Gladiator and negotiated a $2K dealer discount. Now the truck arrived today and they will not give me any dealer incentives as they are saying that my negotiated price includes any dealer incentives, which also happen to be $2K so they won't give that extra $2K to me.
It is frustrating!!

Any ideas how to combat this before I drive over to pick it up?

Look at my post, they add a $2995 package that’s mandatory it’s BS!!
they say it’s revealed on the website, or anything the dealer adds, nitro, tint…etc but doesn’t say it’s $2995
The original video had a used large SUV like a Tahoe. That same dealer had the quote at over $80K out the door. I would run from them as fast as possible.

Straight up let them know "no deal." You can get that same truck spec'ed out for 5-6% below invoice (which is already more than 2k below MSRP) if you're willing to travel. That's flat out shady, the incentives are meant to incentivize buying. This dealer is taking that away from you. I would absolutely walk and got angry just reading your post.

Same here.....sick and tired of these db dealerships: trying to slip in shoddy work on the service side....and these goddamn grifters in finance.

Don't even get me started on the finance department. I paid in full for my Gladiator and had to sit there with a certified check in hand (already filled out) to listen to all the extended warranty packages they offered even though I said I wanted no part of any of them. I got there a little after noon and it was 8 PM at night before I got to go home for what should have been a simple transaction. Water under the bridge now, but nothing about buying a new vehicle is as easy as it should be. That's probably why Vroom and Carvana and such do such business.

No money as of yet. It is my custom order and this is so disappointing.

Did you join tread lightly for the 1% under invoice price? That could be your new starting point and then ask for the 2k incentive from there?

I should also say that my $2K is off of the FWP, which is $2K less than MSRP, so about $4K below MSRP.

That's still acquiescence to the dealer's crooked finance department. This is just more bs hoops that were not there before, when the truck was ordered. Buyer beware.

I would advise that they honor what you agreed to in the first place....or walk away. I would imagine this dealership's service department is also in the back room sharpening their fangs, waiting for you to bring it in for the first oil change.

There is simply nothing libelous or slanderous by calling out these crooked dealers. Every last one of them should feel some pain for their incompetent service practice, the rampant grift in their sales, marketing or finance departments...

This pain....is the free market in action.
