Do you have MTs and/or shitty/heavily grated roads? I don't have this issue at all.
Shitty concrete roadways courtesy of PENDOT, half worn down faulken wildpeaks.
The same road is noisy as hell in a BMW.

A fellow vet I presume? The damn ringing hasn’t stopped in 15 years.
What Road noise?? Between the ringing and the Wop Wop Wop sounds and a Little CCR music-Crickets!

nice, I deployed in the dust bowl twice, once in 2006 then again in 2008/2009, with RCAF Engineers (similar to 325th Civil Engineering Sqn in the US), I think there was only ab out a half dozen of us that were not affected by all the rocket attacks, from my unit, but at least we all made it back, god bless brother
Amen! One team, one fight.

If you read up on it, the technology between modern earbuds and expensive hearing aids is almost identical. Google has been trying to break the audiologist monopoly that makes $200 ear buds into $4000 hearing aids. They have the exact same tech in them.
Still a lot of differences, a whole lot. I've done my research before spending money.
Yes, it's getting closer, but not there yet. There's also big differences in how hearing aids with speakers external to the ears work compared to those fully in the ear (also chatted with doctors about that), and things the hearing aids have that "ear buds" don't have. Some buildings actually have coils that can communicate directly with my hearing aids. Go to an auditorium and if they are so equipped, my devices will communicate directly with their sound system, not relying on the sound to reach from the person/persons back to me.
I also get several years of free service - and took advantage of that this week when a speaker started to act funky. Went in, they did firmware updates, cleaned, speaker replacement, etc. - no charge.

I also have a problem with Google doing this - Google break a monopoly? Right. Once they have an in, they will take control and be the monopoly. People say "use this search, not google" and guess what the underlying technology is? Google. What are the leading browsers based on - including Edge? Chrome. Who controls Chrome? Google.
For me I'll pay to keep it OUT of Google's grimy little paws. Once they get an in, all others die and they control what you do and how you do it.

The Logitechs have an app to tune what you can hear, including yourself - you can wind up shouting otherwise. Not inexpensive, but for my users they are wildly popular in the world of Zoom meetings. My drafters and engineers walk around listening to their music on them, as well.
For meetings those would be THE thing. Logitech has some great technology - been a fan of their web cams, keyboards, mice, pens and other tech for years.
But for meetings it would make it much more like being there, cutting out distractions, the dog barking whatever.
I have used cordless mice, pens and keyboards for almost since they've been around. My logitech stuff on my main PC in my office gets used daily, my wife is always playing games on the machine when I'm not on it and still the single battery in that mouse seems to last about a year, that's just crazy long.
When shopping for computer "accessories", I often look for the Logitech name.

Meniere's, that's what grounded Al Shepard. You're in good company sir!
And took Huey Lewis out of touring 2 or 3 years ago. In his case it hit his hearing badly.

I didn't realize it - Shepard had the then experimental surgery and it worked for him. Learn something new every day (hopefully)

Yes sir, otherwise he’d never have walked on the moon on 14. The “from the earth to the moon” episode “for miles and miles” focuses around that surgery. I highly recommend. On HBO.

Last month for my birthday my very generous friends got me some Jabra ear buds with active noise cancellation. I'm a traditionalist that is pissed most phones don't have headphone jacks anymore. Anyway, today I had them in the Jeep and on a whim decided to put them in while driving: game changer!
My 14 mile ride on a concrete highway to the office was noisy as hell despite the hardtop and sound panels and now that noise is gone. I can now turn the radio down and still hear it and the traffic/situational awareness noises.
1000% recommend for Jeep noise.
Note, I do not use them as headphones in the Jeep, just for the noise cancellation.
Sounds safe. Guess the emergency vehicles should just wait for you?

I love posts where it is obvious the person did not read the whole thread, just wants to get his flame on context free and feel he contributed to the world and made it a better and safer place.

Depending on your state headphones while driving is illegal.

although wearing headphones of any kind are illegal in Canada I still see ppl wearing them, I would not as I feel they affect my reaction time if something was amiss in my surroundings, regardless, there are lots of exceptional products out there and this is just one thing that IMHO comes down to personal preference.

No HBO - no cable (cable won't run service out here because not enough money in it for them)
Otherwise it sounds like an interesting documentary.

There's actually a number of states, in the US, where it's illegal, too.. That said, you generally have to either:
a.) be a complete jerk to get pulled over for them or
b.) get pulled over BY a complete jerk, to get a ticket for it ;)

That said, there's a LOT of things that are illegal to do, to cars and while driving them.. that most LEO's simply ignore. :)
