I took out the 60% seat, and put in a box roughly the height of the remaining folded seat. 1/2 ply scraps, to be painted black and carpeted.

Started with 2 sides approx 17 1/2 x40, scribed to fit tight - no gaps at the doors - with 30" long "divider" panel(s) between them. I thought about bolting the bottom crosspiece to the unused bolt holes, but a friction fit (tight under the door arm rest) and one screw from the remaining seat mount seems to work fine.

One 4"x32 fixed top cross panel, and 2 removable/hinged pieces (scribed to less than 32") give a big square box forward and a smaller tool box rear. Also scribed the forward panel to allow the passenger seat to recline some. All fastened with drywall screws for easy dis-assembly.

photos soon.

I just fold seats forward. Use either the seat back latches, or the latch anchors to secure dog too. Put a cover down to catch the hair, and done.

By the way - do the wires to the doors do anything, in a base Sport? Trigger interior lights maybe?

Well actually yes. I did not remove the rear seat. But my labordoddle has all the space he needs, posh comfort with memory foam and a Zip line for safety. I made a platform with legs. The two center support legs go in the rear cup holder. The legs are adjustable and I can also use this in the wife's Lincoln Corsair. I also made a 3/4 platform in case I need to to tote a rear passenger. Just for info the Zip line allows the fur baby to lay down on the armrest area giving him access to both of us but he can't go any farther forward. Hope this helps.

See pics. I just engineered it out of spare parts. Eye bolts from lowes put through roll bar. Double a nylon rope and put a clamp of some sort on each side to limit the carribeaner side to side movements so the strap attached to the dog's collar or harness allows only his head to his shoulders to extend out the window. It's important to have swivels on each side of the connecting strap so it doesn't bind up from the dogs movements. I canabilzed two old dog leashes and used a strap sold at pet smart that plugs into the seat belt. I cut the seat belt plug off and bought two carribeaners (good ones). Hope that helps.

Just curious if anyone has gone all-out and removed their rear seats, installed a floor, or done anything substantial to make their Gladiator as Furry Copilot Friendly as possible.

My wife and I both use the typical Amazon doggy hammock things, and they work fine enough. But when it's only ever just the two of us and the dogs, I start to wonder why the hell I even have rear seats in the first place.

Especially when my newest copilot is going to be blocking my rear window sooner than later... lol

We have an Irish Wolfhound and a tall Ibizan hound and we did DIY back seat delete with storage.

That looks absolutely incredible! Reminds me a lot of the Goose Gear ones, but probably way less costly.

Here ya go. Lowes baby. Note the legs that go in the cup holder. The table leg mounts are angled to accommodate the use of the cup holders and the angle of the center console. The legs and mounts can be found at lowes or home depot.

This is EXACTLY what I need for my pit/whippet pound puppy! Please (1) make these IMMEDIATELY available for sale or (2) provide a specific shopping list for those that lack the requisite creative talent to figure it out on their own. Thanks!

$35 and 1/2 a day screwing around in the garage. My rear seat hasn't been installed for over a year. Two Great Danes fit just fine back there. Then the wife got crafty and built them each a 4" removable bed.

IMHO - one of the benefits of a pickup is you can put a cap on it secure a crate in the back.

There's nothing better for when he's muddy, wet, and covered with ticks after hiking or hunting.
