Not with the Gladiator, now my Ural, that's a hole different story.
I'm pretty sure he meant URUS as in Lamborghini. If that's the case it's well worth protecting.

I would absolutely lose my shit if I caught someone doing this.

Anyone know of a good baseball bat storage solution? ?
My "bat" sits in a BMore Tactical IWB holster at the 4 o'clock position. A baseball bat is still considered "deadly force". Potential prosecutors (in the climate in which we live) are actually more likely to prosecute for defending yourself with a bat than if you took training classes, got a carry permit, and carry a mainstream carry gun (glock, s&w, sig, springfield, taurus, etc...) all bets are off if you carry a 50 car desert eagle or 44 mag, though. Demonstrating a reasonable and responsible attitude (obtaining training & license) prior to any event that could warrant use of force looks much better for you.

(Sorry, I'm a firearms instructor by trade and teach use of force law)

A broken kneecap is hardly murder.
But it IS "assault with a deadly weapon". Often wanna be tough guys will still come at a person armed with a bat or knife. But merely lifting your shirt so your would be attacker sees your gun is enough to avoid the confrontation entirely. Only a truly crazy person or someone out of their mind on drugs will attack someone with a gun. And if that is what I'm dealing with, its Glock>Louisville Slugger. I've actually prevented 4 vs 1 (my intervention made it a 4 vs 2) assault/attempted homicide by merely showing my gun. One guy was about to get hospitalized or killed by a group of guys that had him on the ground & then picked up bricks. They shrugged off verbal warnings to stop & pit down the bricks. But like they say... body language is everything. Once they saw my still-holstered Beretta, they ran.

I was at a car show once with my restored 1973 Land Rover 1/2 Ton Air Portable (weird military Land Rover). I looked over and saw a guy with his foot up on the front bumper, talking to a group that had formed in front of him, telling them all about it and apparently fielding questions. Now, the front bumper is hot-dip galvanized steel, so I wasn't too worried about it. I walked up to him in front of the group, and firmly said "Please get your foot off my bumper". The look on his face was priceless.

Went out for a drink and had the top and doors off. Sat where I could keep an eye on my Jeep.
Millenial kid came along and started hanging around my Jeep, then leaning on it and sitting on it like it was his as he engaged passers by in conversation.
So I set off my car alarm.

This story sounds a bit... fabricated. Boomers like to exaggerate their dominance over millenials and it's a little weird. Especially when they want to pretend like a millenial would be so envious over a Sport. :giggle:

Man, pardon my saying so, but to me that's crazy. I'm not flashing my gat at anybody. I'm shouting a warning, and if they don't comply, then I'm drawing my gun. I don't draw my gun unless I'm going to fire it. I've never cleared leather once, and I pray I never have to, but to me flashing that gun increases my chances that I would have to draw, not reduces them. YMMV.

It actually makes sense for most situations. Diffusing a threat without having to engage is easy. And it's not intimidation - it's information sharing. If you had the information that someone you're attacking has the means to defend themselves, would you attack that person?

But it IS "assault with a deadly weapon". Often wanna be tough guys will still come at a person armed with a bat or knife. But merely lifting your shirt so your would be attacker sees your gun is enough to avoid the confrontation entirely. And depending on your local political climate, that benign action can be construed as intimidation, brandishing (although I don't think it would, but I'm not a lawyer) or threatening... when being threatened by a criminal. I've read too many stories where the aggressor ends up the victim. So stupid. Let me clarify this sidetrack - when I see a gun on someone, or a friend/acquaintance, I do not feel threatened.

No one's tried to claim our JT as theirs thus far.

We had some union big shots come to the job one day for some kind of contract negotiations and the they all crowded around the back of my JT and one guy was leaning over my tailgate with his arms resting on it looking inside. They didn't know I was in the jeep so when I opened the door and said " you guys diddnt see me just backing it in the spot???" they looked shocked. The funny part was I thought they were new hires the whole time until I got inside. I can't stand when people touch my stuff.

That's actually not a bad point. I work in Health/Safety as well, so you're definitely speaking my language.

I honestly hope I would never have to even bring up that conversation "piece", but we've had more than one raging Floridiot get out of their car and come to our window threatening us over something as stupid as us honking at them for sitting and texting at a green light. Maybe it's not a bad idea afterall...
